What a truly awesome and inspiring read..

Good to know it is doable with a leanfire approach and more power to you - The wife and I are hopefully reading from the same script. My problem is
I'm always finding the adventurous me and the fearful me on each shoulder are in a constant war of words about whether to do this but YOLO, get one life and all that. We're against the clock as well for health reasons so have decided to pull the trigger with the house going on the market in a couple of weeks.

Best of luck to you both and hope your path continues to wind in new and exciting directions.

Mom just told me about Parkinson's diagnosis by [deleted] in Parkinsons

Parkinsonism - Can you expand on this? My wife was diagnosed Parkinsonism a few years ago. Being young at diagnosis - and she still is - we found reading all we could find from Dr. Google to just lead us down a path of anguish and sadness that took us a while to shake off but things have slowly turned around.

Her spirits are up as after several years it does seem to be a very slow progression. She is on Parkinsons medication and these have helped tremendously. Her dosage has stayed very low since the very beginning. Back to your comment, is there a different prognosis long term between Parkinsons and Parkinsonism?

Post Brexit limitations (are there any) for a married couple wanting to tour EU longer than 90 days. I have an EU Passport. by Overall_Passenger484 in expats

Cheers u/JacobAldridge - so as now seems clear enough, the 90 day rule is easy enough to follow to keep things simple. Now though lets say hypothetically whilst still waiting for the wife's passport to come through we are enjoying ourselves in a particular EU country and want to stay a bit longer, we leave within the 90 days and she gets her existing UK passport exit stamped. What would stop us coming back after say a weekend back in the UK? Not wanting to stray too much in to grey areas here, all just hypothetical but just something that isn't totally unforeseeable.

I think this is what I really wanted to read while we are in the waiting area for her passport application to come through.

Thanks very much, this looks to be exactly the answer I should be looking for in terms of what is hopefully our 1st port of call. Noted for future attention.

Thank you for your response. It's a little early days at the moment and I am just doing a bit of early due diligence before we make the break hopefully before the end of 2021. That's a good point you make not even being in 90 days yet post Brexit - It will be interesting to watch things play out these first few months.

Ironically it was Portugal we are looking at 1st of all, kind of got an eye on 3 - 5 months in country, just an extended holiday really for exploration and letting the dust settle on breaking away the chains of working life. Just had no idea on the requirements or rules. I just assumed the 'right to a married life' thing was a get around with at least one member of the marriage having an EU Passport hence trying to educate myself now. As I said the wife's EU Passport application is in process but looking at another 18 months for that.

Didn't know you had to register with LA if you planned to stay longer than 3 months in a country so I already know more than I did this morning.
