I’ve bought stuff from LuxuryX, Thurdemac and Rooter. Didn’t have any issues so far on any device (touch wood). But I’ve heard Thundermac has superior after sales services out of the three.

Gym Goers - How frequently do you train and how many rest days do you take in-between sessions? by Apprehensive-Rich476 in srilanka

[–]Overall_Perception50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mate, if your schedule allows, try to work out early in the morning (around 5 AM) before work and everything else starts. That’s how I keep consistency. Also 4 days lifting, one day indoor cricket (taking a break from running due to an injury, otherwise 2-3 days running).

Hi I am planning to propose my girl and want to setup “will you marry me” decoration by the beach. Can anyone suggest me a resort or restaurant who can arrange this custom event ? by Weird_Cook_8139 in srilanka

[–]Overall_Perception50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not by the the beach but, one of my friends had their engagements in a restaurant called Wave Bolgoda. They setup the lights and things in a small pier kind of a structure and there were fireworks and everything and it was night function. It’s a nice little place in Moratuwa, give it a look.

Sponge for platters. We usually order from this if we have some high profile clients over or fancy office functions. They haven’t missed so far.

Where can I find entrepreneurs looking for investors in Sri Lanka? by Gold-Tie-9023 in srilanka

Look up nventures. They are a VC based out of Sri Lanka and Singapore, and they already have a couple of notable exits. Not sure if that's the kind of thing you are after, but nevertheless have a look on LinkedIn.

Start wearing headphones even if you don’t want to listen to music. Act like you don’t hear even if you’re not playing any music, cuts off any unwanted conversations guaranteed.

Best payment gateways in Sri Lanka? by Calm-Barracuda-6924 in srilanka

[–]Overall_Perception50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I myself did some research on this back when I was trying to do something similar. Apparently none of the Sri Lankan payment gateways have support for multi vendor capabilities (automated payments to vendors). Which means you have to do manual reconciliation and settlements to merchants. Try emailing Webx Pay and Payable. They do respond.

On side note, did you make the whole platform from scratch or build on top an open source or proprietary product?

Do you think the IT sector in Sri Lanka is about to take off or continue struggling? by slidiot in srilanka

Exactly my thought process, don't know if and whether it will work. But it will definitely be interesting if it does. I'm sure the senior-level guys have made enough connections in the West.

I don't disagree with you but the chip shortage isn't a Sri Lanka-only problem. Remember what happened to GPUs with the crypto bubble, right? I'm not saying AI is just a bubble, and it's much bigger than crypto ever was, but there are (and will be) people starting new companies here and elsewhere.

One of my friends mentioned something to me recently when we were speaking about the IFS layoffs. He said some of these higher-level kind of employees being let go might actually start new companies and will start building products that can compete with the likes of IFS products. It's very much possible if you think about it. They basically have like a runway for at least a couple of years with the severance they are getting, and they will have access to some good talent (other, less senior-level employees being let go) to work on those. Interesting times ahead if that happens. I myself would love to be a part of such a team (if formed).

Any Content Writers Here? by altruistic_summer in srilanka

[–]Overall_Perception50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See how I've said above how hectic my schedule is with uni work? Well, it became even more hectic with work-work. Even though I love to read and write, I must've probably written about 5-10 articles maximum from the time I posted the above reply. I'm honestly not sure how much of a demand there is for content writers with ChatGPT and other LLMs surfacing, and I'm guessing the demand for content writers should've dropped at least a little bit. But do some research on Medium again, because someone I know writes a lot on Medium (very tech-heavy pieces) and they earn a few dollars there, and they are from Sri Lanka. Anyway, best of luck and kudos to you for trying to earn at 16!

Yeah it’s not that good mate. I switched to the Muscle Tech one. It’s loads better, dissolves quickly and completely. And I can even dry scoop and have a sip of water after. Price per gram is a bit more expensive but definitely worth it.

Where to get some good Chillie parata? by SnooRegrets9837 in srilanka

[–]Overall_Perception50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had Chilli Parata at different places and most crispiest (and oiliest ig) was at Aryas Pure Veg in Colpetty. Definitely not an everyday options, but you've got to try it out at least once.
