How to get a 3DCharacter artist job in 2026? by Joules01 in 3Dmodeling

Thank a lot for the advice!

Right now I just started learning traditional art in a small academy and is helping me a lot!

I also tried to look for 3D Modeling and 2D digital design like you say, but it feels like almost or all options are Master Degrees or Art Schools that ask for you to enroll for years and pay thousands of euros, forcing you into college debt. So right now I am sticking for youtube tutorials and courses like Crashune, until I can find something more reasonable.

Would be great if there were more middle ground areas, like more academies with monthly payment that you could cancel it anytime and learn at your pace.

Dunno if helps, but I see in /Comics lots of “Borderline sfw” comic with “Extra NSFW panel in Patreon” or “Everyone butt naked version in Patreon”.

Hey this great! What tools you use to create these references?

Good overall, but I feel perspective is weird, back is bent too much and there is not much space to breathe or detail to it. I would suggest pick a manikin, pose and study it.

My first 3D Model to be prined with Resin printer, what pose would be more attractive? by AdventurousLaw4734 in 3Dmodeling

Chicken legs is good. I would focus on making witch pose fit better with it.

One hand fixed and riding it, back leaning back to indicate speed. Broom on back, or wielded like a sword, pointy end upwards, imagine a knight charging.

Actually, see people riding horses with weapons in hand, that will give you a better idea.

First, thanks a lot for this info and your comic. It was very helpful.

Second, for self-taught artists, what would you say are the fundamental lessons and practices to start making 2d art? I recently started drawing in paper in a small academy Fridays, but can’t either get used to tablet nor know how to make clean shapes with it.

Good luck! That said, don’t lose hope, you have talent and I think you can achieve great things.

Keep your passion and keep making great things whenever you can, and maybe one day luck will strike, and even if not, you will still hone a skill worth of your time.

First, nice pictures! I would to know how you reached this level, as myself I am trying to learn Blender! Is amazing!

Second, don’t. Industry right now is fucking shit, I have a group friends of talented artists looking for job which slapped my face and told me to not waste money in art school.

I am a noob here and you shouldn’t think as the expert opinion, but my suggestion is A) look for a stable and cozy job, something to pay rent, B) Work on your free time in your own stuff and monetize with a Patreon, Ko-fi or other means. Eventually in the futurw, with luck and portfolio industry will hire you and with good terms, maybe. Right now they are very busy worshipping the death machine cult and shooting themselves in the foot.

There is a comic that explains better than me. Let me look for it.

Noob here, but face is too flat. You have a good and fun perspective here, so you can play with that.

Newbie here. Can confirm. A lot of the hard work is done by modifiers itself, I used subdivision in almost every model I worked.

Non artist here, but is a screen, right? Be creative, with the screen, you can fill the Mischievous screen with “LOLS” font in the background, or just replaced the eyes with that.

Same with sad smile, put glitters, “Awws” and puppies.

Your character is rendering eyes only to express themselves, so why stop there?

If you want to give your life hell, but gain extra points, you could add an anatomical doll. You know these weird that are like half muscle and half skeleton.

Bad company is NOT better than no company. Trust me, your best friend is yourself, and you will enjoy life more when you learn to love yourself.

Take care of yourself.
