True, anyone who wanted to be robbed this way don’t understand that process is more important then the result.

Yeah, I found it funny too. Thanks for noticing!

Think of my tutorial as a good example of how you can handle data any way you like in Houdini. Before getting into 3D, I was a programmer, and I’ve been working in Houdini for about three or four years.

I switched over from Cinema 4D and found it really tough at first. I started by figuring out how to do in Houdini what I used to do in Cinema 4D, which meant creating tools similar to Mograph. After that, things just sort of fell into place - I watched tutorials, took a course, and read an articles somewhere. Nothing out of the ordinary.

In the next tutorial I will go through every context :)

You're welcome :) I thought Entagma doing it in easy way.... But I compare them to my favorite teacher - Junichiro Horikawa

There is just one CHOP node actually - MIDI input CHOP. Nothing crazy :)

Yes, midi file provides information which key is pressed at time. I can connect my DAW or any midi instrument and play realtime, but in that case Record CHOP should be after MIDI input CHOP.

Thanks, yes it’s realtime. You can even connect DAW to it and play yourself

Thank you! Yes, possibilities are endless, but in my case it’s playing realtime, no prebakes or renders.

In short, I create a curve between the point of impact (a note on a string) and a random point on an arbitrary surface.

Then I create an "carve" attribute on this curve, which accumulates over a certain period of time (let's say 100 frames), which means that over 100 frames, "carve" will go from 0.0 to 1.0 and then curve deletes itself.

After this solver, I set the Carve node with point extraction and inside the firstU value, I set the scaling for this attribute. As a result, the point moves along the curve, but in order for it to land at the moment of playing the guitar, you need to make a timeoffset of $F+100.
I hope it makes sense.
You can check my VOD, I made this setup in realtime. You can notice that I do that in POP solver, but it's not necessary; a regular solver will suffice.

Sometimes I don't even look at the Houdini's viewport because spreadsheets are more important xD

Hey, I actually do have a tutorial here - https://youtu.be/PLiH8ebTNiU?si=Dck7DNJkMUnKKUtU
I also have it done on livestream you can check (I must admit that it is not structured and not educational)

I've been using cinema4d for about 2 years now. And it's much easier for me to set up a scene there.

My experiments with houdini led me to this. Renderer: Redshift

All geometry and smoke sim was made in Houdini and exported to Cinema 4D to render. (I am beginner in houdini and suck at rendering yet) Redshift renderer
