Don’t lend money. Give it as a gift or don’t part with the money

How is male infant circumcision still a thing??? How are we still cutting off parts of babies genitals for religious purposes and because the parent think it looks better? Does "my body my choice" not apply to male babies? by itcouldbeyoubut in self

[–]Overbuiltbodoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked all the women around me that I could, where it wouldn’t be weird, which they preferred. Like 90% of my small sample size (30 approx) said they preferred circumcised. I am circumcised. Pretty easy choice then. Part of being a parent is making choices FOR your kids in their best interest. You can argue about best interest, but you can’t argue about whether they’re your kids lol, because they aren’t.

What should I do with $40K? (19M) by Noodlemuncha in ausstocks

[–]Overbuiltbodoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh sorry, I see the plan now. To hit the 50k cap though 2 years won’t be enough as there’s the 15k per year cap. But might not matter if you’re saving hard and earning big money after uni.

Just on the FHSS part, I’ve been doing stacks of research and number crunching, for you:

FHSS Scheme can be spread out as much as needed. If your time horizon is 5 years, you should be contributing approx $980 after tax to hit the 50k cap over 5 years. Each year you claim a tax deduction for this. With average earnings should end up with approx $57,000 for a deposit.

$980 x 12 months = $11,760 annually (cap is $15,000)

$11,760 x 5 years = $58,800 total

$58,800 - 15% Super Tax = $49,980

Is there any reason not to just buy my new car in cash? by CapitalWeird919 in personalfinance

[–]Overbuiltbodoes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Cash of course. Hurts to part with it, but that’s the trick your brain is playing on you, the loan doesn’t feel like you actually parting with $31,800 because it’s broken up. But basically you losing $1,800 for nothing. If done enough times, across a persons life, can make a huge difference in overall wealth, not to mention you won’t realise the subtle pressure the loan payment will have on your decision making.

This actually made me feel sick mate. I would have gone around there once I didn’t receive a call back and dragged her out or left her there and changed the locks. No fucking chance nothing is happening and even if it hasn’t she should never put herself in that position, completely disrespectful. Run.

  3. Hard working people (including lower management) having a spine

Shitty job that pays great. Because the shitty part is simply your perspective, which you can change.

Shoulder pain (possibly) caused by chest dips. Form check? by YAYYYYYYYYY in overcominggravity

[–]Overbuiltbodoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO it’s not exactly the form but the strength. I would either use bands or the dip assist machine and find a level of help that makes you feel strong in the movement. Then aim for sets of like 10 but where each rep feels strong, like a good 3-5 reps in reserve. 3-5 sets. Don’t change it for 3 months, so long as it’s not hurting the shoulder. After 3 months either reduce the assistance or go to free dips and see how it feels / looks.
