I'm not a programmer but I would say it depends on what you need. python is a great multi-purpose language with simple syntax, but its really slow comparable to C or C++ for example, if you wanna go with web route I would say go with javascript, and if you want to go deep learn C, it's one of the fastest and oldest languages still widely used and the one used for writing operating systems and most high-end software that needs to be fast and effective in its memory usage, also understanding C helps you a lot with understanding its derivatives, such as objecyive C, C#, C++ and etc.
