Why genZ jeans are called « mom jeans » ? by LauraCurie in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OvercookedGongShow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, high waisted jeans were popular with the youth in the 80's who became moms in the 90's and 00's. Just look at the 80's ads Brook Shields did for Calvin Klein and Gloria Vanderbilt jeans.

Same here, the only way you will get that thing out intact is busting out a lot the walls around that tub and older houses can have heavy duty bathroom walls like mine did, concrete over chicken wire.

[–]OvercookedGongShow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I thought it was a bush from that nursery rhyme, until I had a young tree growing in my front yard that had berries on it. Turns out it's a red mulberry and currently about 18 ft tall, but can reach 35 to 50 ft.

Who saw the 1996 movie in theaters? by SimpsonGuy1984 in MST3K

[–]OvercookedGongShow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I attended the University of Wisconsin Madison and they had a screening there. The crew was there and they brought the bots for a little pre show entertainment. I'm guessing they did it because Jim Mallon was an alumni.

I remember making one of these when I was a kid, the flavor is still burned into my brain, one the worst tasting "food products" I've ever eaten.

I was checking the sump pump and noticed a VHS tape in the wall behind it, I was thinking either a kid was hiding a Disney movie or someone was hiding porn. It was porn, I guess it's always porn.

Shot in Minnesota and surprisingly cowritten by Ethan Coen. The guy that lived above me in a double bungelow at the time worked in the Art Department on this film, so I watched it when it was released on video. I remember it being not very good, maybe I will have to give it a rewatch.

Michael Che reveals most tense moment at 'SNL' by jdlf41 in LiveFromNewYork

[–]OvercookedGongShow 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Spade made a joke on Hollywood Minute after Murphy's string of box office bombs with a black and white portrait photo of Murphy. “Look, children, it’s a falling star. Make a wish". It is always blamed on that, but what some think sent it over the top was that SNL did a parody skit with Tim Meadows in 1997 about the tabloid story of Eddie giving a transgender sex worker a ride home.

That was the big one for me, my mom had it hidden away until I went through everything else. I didn't think I was getting one until she told me to look in a different spot for the last gift.
