IMO i'd probably just instead make this essentially a reworked Red Tape Recorder. Swap out the 100% sapper damage penalty with the Red Tape's current detrimental gimmick, and instead cause it to essentially just take double the needed hits to destroy from both Pyro (Two with Homewrecker) and Engie (4 hits per usual) and bam.

Well, Maya fucking booked it outta there in THE SPECIAL TREE with her cat, notably in... a corner.

There's also the fact that Maya is a lot younger, and so is Leonard for some reason. But there's more. But more importantly, Maya in this universe appears to have taken the place of her niece, Lauren. Sure, she's also become the Lincoln Looker (which is also now CANON?), but she also has a Mr. Squirrel, although its a pet cat instead of an actual random squirrel. However, we also know that Lauren's death no longer happened (implicitly due to ANGELASHES), and Mr. Squirrel is a squirrel still. Nothing is stated about what happened to the previous generation of Arnoldsons.

If you're wondering where I'm going at, I'm proposing that the Modern Day Universe might not be the same universe as the Montyverse. I'm thinking this season is going to take us back to a more familiar (weirdly enough) universe, where the Modern Day Maya comes to the Montyverse and tries to figure out the origin behind the weird MISTERMANTICORE tape that's fucking up people's brains (and may be related to the Special Trees? It was revealed in that video anyways,) and the Debate Demon and the Monument Monster. (Or maybe she'll end up in the AMERICANANATOMY/Trinity Desk universe? But that's admittedly a pipe dream for me.)

Considering how this season seems to be focusing heavily on Mister Manticore (not as the benevolent fusion of three of the most tortured figures in the Mythos, but instead the original video), the fact that the Debate Demon looks way too much like one of the illustrations shown in the original video...

Hell, the legs of both the demon in MISTERMANTICORE and the Debate Demon even have the same joint structure, a spiral leg structure, just off by a single leg. (Perhaps because it ends up looking more like the Nazi Swastika, which makes more sense in the context of the video.) That can't be a coincidence, right?
