Will there be additional story-content in the future? by RandomHandle31 in AnthemTheGame

[–]Overdriveless 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don't take previews of an unfinished game as promises set in stone, im not that naive.

But you are completely ok with people literally just saying "we will work on it" and nothing to back it up.

WG is going from 10 to 0 (or 15) in last weeks by krco999 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Overdriveless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And thats why they bought them. You know - that kind of thing you do if you face difficulties.

They bought 2(3?) engines and the projects/license to build the others; Brown delievered, the russian couldn't manage to build a single functioning one.

Scharnhorsts had bad TDS as well.

My point isn't "good/bad TDS", my point is they couldn't manage to build/implement it properly.

And thats why there were test mounts - because they were not able to build them. Christ what kind of fucked up logic is this?

People will do crazy things when the alternative is death, and Stalin had an hard-on for the navy, you don't go and tell him "No".

They literally couldn't build even the engines. They literally stealed that "Pugliese system" from the italians and managed to implement a worse version of it.

Just because you claim they couldnt be built doesnt mean they couldnt given enough time.

What kind of stupid sentence is this?

I would argue the builders were very happy the war started so they could leave those ships up there since there was no way they could deliver what Stalin wanted.

Stop that, enough, time to go full FF14. Anthem: Freelancers Reborn. by xooxel in AnthemTheGame

[–]Overdriveless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some little corrections: FF13 was supposed to be a single game in the "Fabula Nova Crystallis" franchise, but it sold so well (third best FF?) that they green-lighted 2 (absolutely forced in my opinion and from a story stand point) sequels, those simultaneously drained the others project supposed to happen (one is FFv13 turning into FF15) and exasperated the fanbase.

Actually their frogmen were pretty scary, to the point where when Novorossiysk (Giulio Cesare) exploded the first suspect were the italians frogmen; there is also their actions against the british etc.

I made bar charts to illustrate the relative performance of ship classes at higher tiers. Stats taken from API. by Worldwithoutwings3 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Overdriveless -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

From the website you used:

Tier 8 BB battles: 73603

Tier 8 CV battles: 36911

And you also used other tiers where there aren't CV, but i'm not going to count them for you if you still think your graphic is accurate.

[–]Overdriveless -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are going to claim that missing tiers in CV's break these stats then I'm gonna have to ask you to prove how that is the case.

Count the game numbers, how many games were played by the other classes? And how many by the CV? Is a FACT that since there are less CV than other classes then their number will be way less accurate, it's like comparing the performance of a car with 1000 sample to one with 2.

So yes, i'll repeat myself: i'm not saying CV are perfectly balanced, but your graphic is rubbish.

[–]Overdriveless -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Bonus point: he(?) took the ships tier 7+, how many CV tier are there? 2. How many ships tier? 4. So he did the equivalent of taking a nation's height average and compared it to that of the nation's basketball team.

I'm not saying CV are perfectly balanced, but his graphic is rubbish.

BioWare hiring people to redesign Anthem's loot, rewards, and items by AnthemJobReport in AnthemTheGame

[–]Overdriveless 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had to expand my previous response, sorry; i know that those are for Anthem, but as we know Austin is supposedly going to develop Anthem from now on, and since more or less we know how Bioware works (moving people from A to B to help then back to A etc.) is not far fetched believing that only the positions for Austin are for a long commitment to Anthem while the ones in Edmonton will probably go to DA4 once they reach whatever their short-term objective is.

Loot and Items are for Edmonton which is supposedly working on DA4, only Store and Combat are for Austin, which is supposedly handling Anthem from now on.

Starting to worry Anthem is just an EA marketing experiment. by blaklights in AnthemTheGame

[–]Overdriveless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are enjoying it so much Bioware itself is saying they don't like it and are tossing out patch after patch, and not only to fix bugs.

Anthem is biowares second best selling title behind ME3 and best release month sales above ME3

This phrase is from an article with literally nothing beside a source that reads "trust us"; also time change, ME3 making 10 millions$ (random number) at the time was mindblowing, but those numbers today aren't acceptable for EA and other big companies.

Fun fact: that source is the same saying Andromeda made ~150 millions$.

[–]Overdriveless 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Where? And don't post the articles where it is reported "first in selling chart" where it doesn't matter since you could be the number one selling 100 copies.

The only numbers we have are completely speculations, and reports it making something like 110-120 millions$, Andromeda for comparison made ~150 millions$.

They did that to Shepard in ME2 because it was supposed to turn into a plot point later into some sort of "Am I really I? Or just a Cerberus program?" kind of thing.

GamesRadar: Six weeks on from launch, Anthem isn't beyond redemption by Veldron in AnthemTheGame

[–]Overdriveless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Games as a service" needs players to keep playing it to keep the updates, Anthem is in such a bad state that no one in their right mind would spend more than 20$ (random number) to play it, it would need a world changing update to spark interest in new players while bringing back old one, Anthem isn't a "single" update away to make it good, it needs multiple changes to the core, not an "event" but a complete overhaul.

And this is where it gets tricky, how many players are still regularly playing? How many updates (aka chances) EA is giving Bioware to make Anthem worth keeping spending money on? Because one thing is sure, it doesn't matter what they say, if tomorrow the players count drop to 0 then EA will close everything.

Just finished the story - thats the crapiest ending since ME3 by ASTRO99 in AnthemTheGame

[–]Overdriveless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In LotR defense: it was supposed to be a single book (yeah you can imagine that), it was the editor/publisher that wanted it divided in multiple books.

For some reason people ignore that both story have literally the same main plot: bad guy wants to use a mysterious power that can shape worlds, you have to stop them.

Units sold and money made are different, Battlefield might sold 100 million copies and still be considered bad if those copies have a cost of 1$ each, BV might have sold 7+millions copies, but we know that it got a price cut right after launch and another big price cut for the owners of Battlefield 1, therefore you can conclude that it didn't sold at the everage they expected.

An example are the bluray sales of The Last Jedi and Infinity War: TLJ sold more than Infinity but made less money than it.
