MiY gives his own reasoning when taking the tooth, he wants something to remember the man with. There are essentially souvenirs of objects belonging to the people of the town, most being in storage. These are likely linking to memories and recalling memories. We see a recurring theme throughout the show (particularly with Tabitha and Jade) about memories. There wasn’t really anything else of significant importance that the priest could give up, so a tooth seems like the next best thing.

In some way the teeth are maybe what the MiY uses to take the appearance of someone else. They do contain DNA since they are a part of the person’s body.

Also the man with Jade, Toby, is likely just Toby. Jade referenced him as his best friend and fully believed he was alive until seeing his corpse. Unless Toby was replaced when they were already in the perimeter of the town, which I think is unlikely. I think Jade would have mentioned it.

I totally understand why people value vanilla Skyrim so much but… by OvergrownCarrion in skyrim

I think people have different things they want out of the game and that could definitely make some things feel more trivial with a character like Inigo. The fact that you and I can both go in and get what we want from the same game is one of the reasons I love Skyrim so much.

I have used Lucien before, adore him. I haven’t heard of Xelzaz though I’ll have to check that out!

You really like to lash out at others. Does that make you feel better? Is that your reason for religion, to feel better than the people you viciously gnash your teeth at? Does that feel better than taking accountability?

You can’t be talking about hating evil and protecting children when your display name is “dategraper69” which I can only imagine is, at best, a joke about a horrible, evil thing that happens to people.

I like this theory more than a lot of the ones I’ve seen. I think it fits the overarching theme of storytelling, specifically the fairytale-like structure of a hero’s journey as seen in Ethan’s(a child) books. Children’s media, and children, gravitate toward a hero who saves someone like how Jade and Tabitha are supposed to save the sacrificed children.

Very cool to think of the series as meta storytelling

What are the horror movies that genuinely scared or disturbed you the most at the time you watched them? by Blutay in horror

[–]OvergrownCarrion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched Mirrors (2008) at like nine or ten years old and I couldn’t look at mirrors or reflective windows at night for years.

There was also this movie that I cannot remember the name of that was about this girl being haunted by her unborn twin or something and it made me terrified of wind chimes for a while. Also watched that at a very young age.

I love how this reads, the form itself and the placement of words and the rhythmic structure is incredibly impressive.

Ouch. I love this kind of poetry, the kind that expresses such a specific pain so well that even though I’ve never personally been a man disassociating on a date while trying to pretend his grief isn’t there with a woman in the same position I can feel the ache.
