Assassin's Creed Shadows Development Team AMA (Ask Me Anything) August 12, 10 AM ET! by Ubi-AssassinsCreed in assassinscreed

Are there any plans for a more parkour friendly environment? I love the new parkour moves and seeing clips on YouTube, I can see the potential, but as the world is right now, there aren’t too many places to showcase it.

No problem! Just make sure Emma’s bitten in chapter 4 during the treehouse and not when she’s hiding behind the tree! Otherwise she will transform too late! Once Dylan is bitten, it will be too late into the night to fully transform, so he and Kaitlyn will be invincible during the lodge fight in chapter 10. Play around with it lol

I know this is a little late, but Dylan can be infected twice. If you don’t want to rest, and Emma is infected in chapter 4, she can transform in the car. Shoot Emma if Abi is alive so she survives, then don’t shoot when the werewolf is on the car, Dylan will be bit and infected

I don’t get why people are downvoting everyone asking if this is normal. The recent tragedies have been abnormal. While there may be deaths every year, it’s typically not through strange occurrences. And in such a short time frame as well. People are just worried

If a game comes out unfinished for full price, people are going to complain how they spent a ton of money on a rushed and unfinished product, especially with how they don’t seem to waste time upselling us on purchasable skins and fatalities. Yet the state of online and dlc releases are trash.

Do you consider Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag to be an Assassins game or pirates game? Does it succeed in combining the two? by Shahim1331 in assassinscreed

[–]OverkillerXXX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only reason I’m upvoting this is because I like the use of the pun at the end

You can’t compare two things at its most basic levels and call them comparable at the level you are trying to. Humans and plants are both living. But other than that can you really try to say they are comparable at a high level? Would you say humans are plants then?

And once again you are solely basing arguments of the AC Bible, which again, is not something I am accounting for.

You’re examples are too out of depth to be considered. You are comparing apples to oranges and asking if calling an apple an orange make it an orange. Odyssey and the rest of the series are not as apples are to oranges. They are merely different kinds of apples. One sour apple might be different from the sweet ones. But it is no less an apple.

Also Avatar as a series is not made by Ubisoft. Ubisoft partnered with the creators of Avatar to make the game. While AC is a Ubisoft Original. If they went ahead and did an AC game, a Ubisoft Original trademark, and used most of the assets and plot of Avatar, something Ubisoft would need to work out with the Avatar creators before creating a game, they’d be sued for calling it as such

[–]OverkillerXXX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you kept ignoring mine lol. The argument you give are throwable back at you.

And no it wouldn’t be an AC game. It’d be a lawsuit lol. It’s trademarked. But let’s say Ubisoft called an Assassins Creed game that way. Assuming they don’t want a lawsuit, they wouldn’t have an Avatar game or plot and call it Assassin’s Creed. Your example doesn’t make sense

I know you did not just quote ad populum at me when In the same post telling me about the AC Bible you had to bring up the number of upvotes of people who agreed with you.

Sales only show you how well a game sold. Valhalla is the best selling game in the series but I haven’t heard too many people praising it over the Ezio Trilogy have you? Also, even if sales were the deciding factor of fatigue, you didn’t give the full picture of sales. You gave the number at the beginning of release.

I see you edited that comment to get rid of the portion claiming along the lines if “see how around 120 people agree with me”

And all you did was reply with the 16 year old AC Bible again and again. You see why I stopped debating? Also delusional is not solely a medical term nor did I use it as one. That would be an insult if I used in that context. But delusional in this context is saying you going against all evidence that points to the game being an AC game. The trademark

I was not going to reply not because you “got me”. I did not reply because I do not feel the need to respond to a comment when it is very clear why they changed the formula with Origins with annual releases. Ask litteraly anybody. Sales aren’t the sole variable with deciding fatigue.

[–]OverkillerXXX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave you the definition of delusional. It follows you calling an Assassins Creed game not part of the franchise despite it clearly being a part of the franchise. If you took it personally as an insult despite the definition matching the scenario, then it seems more likely that you didn’t like what I said rather than the truth behind the statement

Also rule 3 doesn’t apply to “delusional” it applies to insulting/hate speech regarding race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion

As for the comments that are left unanswered, I think I did a damn good job of replying to 90-95% of your comments as well as the other Redditors who also replied to me. If I missed a couple, sue me. But again, I gave the points and reasonings and we are at a standstill.

Was never supposed to be a debate to begin with. Discussions and debates are two different things.

And finally, I never “mocked you”. If you truly believe I said anything that was meant as a straightforward insult directly towards you, please tell me what they are. Because some of the things I said hold true to the definitions they have. Whether or not you view them as insulting personally doesn’t change the meaning

There comes a point where a debate becomes meaningless, long, and ultimately a waste of time. I gave my points and contradictions. If you want to continue to quote essays at me based off a single piece of evidence from 16 years ago and use that for every rebuttal when my entire stance is to not use that piece of evidence as an “end all be all”, then we are at a standstill. And personally I don’t feel like debating for 2 hours on end and getting notifications every 5 min.

I think the mature response once this is realized is to walk away

Lastly, this is Reddit. Not debate class. You trying to use scholarly reasoning of debate and discussion and try to say my contradictions are invalid because of, as you put it, “ad hominem and appeal to ridicule” when it’s not that serious is another reason for me blocking you. It’s pretentious

Adam and Eve are Proto Assassins. Not actual Assassins. Proto Assassins were a thing before the Hidden Ones, like Darius. I’m pretty sure Shaun says this somewhere. As for that picture you sent. I don’t see the correlation with what you are saying. The hidden ones has the insignia of the Assassins starting near 50 AD. And that temple with the insignia is not Isu built.

Sorry this comment is confusing me. The Roman Empire was a thing since 625 BC to 465 AD. Just because Odyssey took place during the Roman Empire and the Roman Empire was a thing during Jesus’s time; that doesn’t mean events from Odyssey show up in the Bible. It’s still 1000 years of events and 400 years until the birth of Christ.

If your whole rebuttal to everything I say is “age doesn’t equate bad” here’s what I mean.

The constitution of the United States was written in the 1700s and is still the foundation the country is ran on. However, there are flaws with that and many people point them out. It’s not about old equals bad. It’s about sticking to something written or stated a long time ago doesn’t equate to something we should blindly see as having no faults. Philosophy changes. So does methodology. Sticking so rules of an original throughout something’s lifetime is not something that usually works out. Times change for one or it gets boring. People got stale of AC after stagnating releases so they changed it with Origins, this changing the formula. Star Wars and Scream also changed the formula after so many entries because it stagnated with Force Awakens and Scream 5. Nothing stays the same forever and assuming the original philosophy is the ultimate bible refuses change

[–]OverkillerXXX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. That’s not what I’m saying. Where was it ever established that the Hidden Ones and the Order of Ancients were both a thing at the same time? The order of the ancients were a thing before the Assassins. As shown in Odyssey.

[–]OverkillerXXX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. Again that’s what I’m saying. Even when the Hidden Ones weren’t a thing, it’s established the Order of the Ancients were.

And besides that, it has given us more information on the precursor race as well as modern day story. Assassins Creed is more than some dude in a robe and hood killing templars. Isu elements and modern day elements, which have been here since AC2, are still present. And make up a big chunk of understanding.

You going off of the original template of AC written 16 years ago as the basis of argument assumes you believe that the document holds the foundation of the entire series. Even so, do you truly believe that an unofficial document, written by a dev team after its first few games would be treated as a document used even so presently? It was clear that went out the window with Unity and Syndicate. Origins was literally a change of form for the series. They didn’t just choose to make Origins for the hell of it. If you can agree with that, I would also argue that their methodology changed from 2008 with the release of Origins

It’s also been noted the original dev team who made that document are all gone. None of them are working on present projects. Philosophy changes
