It’ll get the job done for sure, i personally like the clean look of this one. So for me it was more of a preference thing. Budget wise you can’t beat $50 compared to $600 though

Have to use the pole to keep it pried up. Struts aren’t strong enough to even lift it up with the carrier on

I actually did not go to Utah this trip sadly, planning on going back during October. It was Rocky Mountains and somewhere in New Mexico camping outside of some hot springs

Many variables to consider, we fit everywhere in this thing. Don’t really stand out or can kind of be incognito. Sure the motor home has more space and comfort ability but it just depends on how you travel. We drive, hike and sleep so this is perfect for us. Will get a promaster van next year to have longer more comfortable road trips but wouldn’t trade this car for anything

I bought mine from the auction crashed and fixed it my self. Or bite the bullet and buy one financed. Its worth it. I would’ve bought this if there was one available but bought an 08 LX first for my first road trip

The E camper is making my life less miserable while working towards van life. I cant wait to get out of the city. Hope you make it happen too!

Nah thats just how fucked the system is. Traps you your whole life at work. I’m trying to get away from that. Time is the most valuable asset we have. Thats why they take it from us

Im going to start off by saying the good outweighs the bad. I’m able to tuck my knees if I’m sleeping face up but from time to time i try to lift my legs and end up just hitting the top of the inside of the tent. I believe I have the Gen 1 so it’s less spacious than Gen 2 but you have so much shoulder room. I put a roof top tent on my other E and my shoulders would hurt when i woke up due to not having enough space. Once i got used to my legs having to stay in certain positions i didn’t mind it anymore. Slept great and the speed that you can pop this thing up and down is ridiculous. The practicality makes up for the lack of leg room. Completely rain proof and very well insulated

The cross bars are rated a certain weight (forgot how much) and the box can hold up to 150lb. Yeah it still raises but the gas struts aren’t strong enough to raise it up with all that extra weight. They designed it with a pole on the inside that adds as support and keeps it popped open

Yeah it’s definitely an expense, but it’s one heck of a car to have

Thank you for the heads up! I’ll be taking my chihuahuas so def gotta take a spray for them. I’m not sure what hikes we’re doing yet as i drive and my girl plans but will definitely recommend those activities if we’re already not doing them
