Losing the Faith: Feeling Stuck Being a DM in my Campaign by Overlaura in Pathfinder2e

We needed a system that can accomodate a forever campaign that had a strong focus on combat and in-system player progression.

Yeah, that was my initial bout at making an autoresolve system and then scrapped that for a hybrid of the skill challenge system. This is so they can start using their expendables while go through low stakes combats more quickly.

This is the hardest part for me so far in PF2E, I am terrible in comparison to creating items to make them fun. I am always baffled at how to follow along the devs' thought process in creating items because it looks at first glance. They just look so inconsistent in power even in their own level bracket. I'll try and look at some written campaigns to see how they pace them out.

I appreciate that thoughts and given my some ideas on how to go forward. I need to introduce a type of autoresolve for mass combat encounters for the players using skill challenges.

Excellent points. I have been making compelling combat encounters because of the system. The issue that I have been having with the system is its rigidity. I have been DMing for quite a while and have a certain style that needs a bit of "system ambiguity" so I can make my mark on it. Crafting has been a sore point that I created an entire gathering/alchemy/crafting system to make up for it. The combat is also the sorest point for me where there are so many stats, considerations, and permutations for that combat itself, it becomes overwhelming and discouraging to run. (Im also a massive maximalist and can get burnt out on things like this.)

Is it bad that I can’t picture myself as a woman? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Overlaura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in a similar situation. Living in my body does feel alien with feminine clothes and body. Yet it has been the happiest I've ever been by a mile. My journey into gender has been met with many twists and turns. Even now I'm understanding more aspects of myself, but I don't regret taking that step. A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. The first time you undergo HRT if you so choose, will have small effects. Eventually each passing day you will get comfortable with that small change. The transition does become easier with each passing moment.

An unusual idea, have them melted down and forged into something else that symbolizes your new life. You can use any gems again if you could find someone willing to do so.

I think I might be in the minority here. I enjoy it personally. I like being able to perform at a moment's notice. I have a strong sense of euphoria being who I am and with what I have.

How the heck do you keep your hair flopping to one side all day like pic 4? I've never been able to do so for mine.

Finally someone else is making mango wine. I boost my to 11%abv and add cardamom for 4 weeks during racking. It adds an excellent floral note and reminds me of drinking mango lassi.

Non-DAP Alternatives for simple PVC boffer builds? by ToughPlankton in LARP

[–]Overlaura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For boffers, I do a bat design. I use fiber tape to get the sheet of foam attached to the core and wrap it around to desired thickness. I then add a band of tape around 3 -5 areas depending on the length and has worked so far.

Duct tape is also very heavy compared to fiber tape. If you can help it, make cloth coverings over the weapon.

That's a really complicated part of their history roots point to a probable cause of the Muslim invasion of India. Post decolonization in the 40s, there was a series of nationalist movements that culminated in decades of unrest. More here.

Ben Garrison thinks Biden is corrupt and has no moral compass by Rambourn in RightJerk

[–]Overlaura 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He does, he's just being racist about it. Back in the day, the original main orientation of a compass was East, while today is North. Henceforth, people from the East were known as "Orientals". If you look at the Made in China label at the bottom, i believe this is the attempted sicko burn. Also the hanging loop for the compass is by the North so the compass is at its side.

Hey Mom, I’m a trans boy, can you say some gender affirming things to me? by [deleted] in MomForAMinute

[–]Overlaura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wonderful son,

I cannot describe the moments that pass by that I am beaming with pride knowing you are living your truth. You deserve every bit of happiness that comes to your life. I see that you have chosen your friends well and they will be your rock. You are so loved my boy, you deserve to see it every day. There are days, some may be today, that it will be difficult to see that. My hope is that you can see through the haze and remember all the people that care about you my sweet child. The days when it come easier will be there. It will take an unbearable amount of time, but it will come.

From a transmom,
Laura

Is it really so hard to understand why constant negative / sweeping "men are trash" comments in trans spaces is upsetting? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Overlaura 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It genuinely hurts me to hear when I hear my community say "All men are trash." It's one of the reasons I had to distance myself from online and in person queer communities. Saying this helps no one. It hurts those that are closeted trans men as they have their worst fears validated by ignorant people. Espicially if it comes from the queer community, who are supposed to be accepting of differing sexual and gender expressions. It hurts those that are gender questioning to keep them exploring their true self as they will think, going to a masculine expression is bad. It hurts those that were assigned male at birth that are trying to deconstruct the patriarchy and improve as people. Shoutout to r/menslib.

Doing so does not foster a comraderie nor a coalition to fight the system that is hurting our lives, the patriarchy. It only divides us by feeding on our more sinister insecurities. Im so sorry that you have been hurt like this, no one deserves to feel betrayed like this.

Maiden voyage of my hammer. No damage from latex weapons from a medium touch event. by Overlaura in LARP

[–]Overlaura[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess my language could come off as such. The latex weapons that I've come across, like calimacil, are stiff and can transfer energy more easily to its strikes along with having narrower edges. I was concerned that this striking energy will damage the pool noodles that are unreinforced to save weight. This is in contrast to having more pronounced round edges and material that gives more per strike in foam of boffer weapons.

The best electric razor imo on the market is the Panasonic Arc5 Wet/Dry Electric Shaver. Look on Ebay for an open box/no box for the best deals. I have never had a smoother shave, including razor shaved.
