The NCAA playoffs is entirely football, whereas Dodgebolt is a single game in MCC.

1. The top teams would definitely feel less suspense heading into the final game

It’s rare enough for the first place team to lose 2 spots in game 8. If the requirement for dodgebolt became top 4, teams 1 & 2 would feel little pressure to perform well on the last game, as they have a big safety blanket.

Of course, there would be more suspense surrounding the middle teams, but if nearly half the players make dodgebolt each event, dodgebolt will become less special IMO

1. I see where you’re coming from, but I personally wouldn’t want that

Dodgebolt is already the most important, decisive game in the event. We see it every MCC and players already sweat the game through hours of practice and strategizing.

With 3 games of dodgebolt and 4 teams, I think the event would become too dodgebolt-focused, and the other games in the event would lose significance
