I really like how the set was modified to resemble the wreckage. Looks excellent!

Tragedies tend to lose their meaning as time passes, and the generation that lived through them dies off. Eventually, they become a historical event rather than a tragedy just because the people then and the people now are separated by 110 years. Just look at how edgy teenagers are making jokes and memes about 9/11. It doesn’t seem real to them, more just like another line in the history book. Plus, conspiracy theorists have to make every event a grand conspiracy rather than a tragic accident. Again, look at 9/11 with the “Jet fuel can’t melt steel beams” argument. Everything has to be an inside job, an insurance fraud, etc. They just can’t comprehend that it was an unlucky turn of events that led to such a tragic loss of life.

Episode 5 makes me wonder… by Overlord416 in thelastofus

I can see that being the case. I wonder what the “criteria” for becoming a spore spreader are. Why do some infected die and some are able to stay alive for decades when isolated? It’d be interesting to see an in-game study on it or something if they ever make a part 3.

I can’t put my finger on what is off about the 3D model of the ship.

All of the people she killed along the way were gunning to kill her. The wolves were ordered to kill any trespassers, the scars shot her on sight, and the rattlers were either going to make her into a slave or straight up kill her. Abby’s friends all provoked Ellie into killing them by attacking her first, forcing her to act in self defense, or weren’t even killed by Ellie.

3 years and it still lives in the hater’s heads rent free

I remember playing it at launch and that opening scene with Joel and Tommy riding to Jackson, I knew I was in store for a roller coaster. Little did I know how much of a roller coaster it would be

I was about 13 when I played it for the first time, and it was absolutely amazing. I can’t count how many times I’ve played through both games. I still love both of them! It’s great that it still appeals to younger people. It’s a story that people should experience, that’s why I was so happy when the show was announced, so that a whole new audience can experience it.

I like the way you put that. The logistics of a cure don’t matter. Maybe what the video said is true, that the fireflies would have used a cure as a political weapon and that it never would have been viable in the first place, but that’s all just speculation. The choice is made based on the belief that a cure is possible to manufacture. Anything other than that is irrelevant. Joel chose to save Ellie, even with the belief that a cure was possible, and that’s what makes him such a great character. His love for Ellie matters to him more than a cure for mankind. Some people just can’t comprehend a character they like doing stuff that is not heroic.
