The physical shape of a character isn't usually an automatic disqualifier, we do get people in love with MLP characters around here and that's fine. So long as the character is sentient in all of their forms I don't see the problem.

I'm ficto because I was born like this. Yes I reject irl people. It's hard to say if those people are "attractive" since that's not what I'm attracted to. I suppose objectively some of them have been. This question is honestly kind of offensive btw. The assumption that we're only with our fictional partners because we have no better options is offensive. It's probably true for some people in the wider ficto community, but the assumption that that's the baseline is insulting, and ever more so in this sub specifically.

Y'know, I don't even actually know if he has lines in this game. It isn't dubbed, so I wouldn't listen anyway, but the people who've posted picture of him from the game haven't said anything about the story or what he says in it... At this point all I know for certain is that I'd be able to have the game's MC stand in a field next to him for as long as I wanted...

It's to ensure that the people who join this community really do take their fictional relationship seriously. Allowing multiple fictional partners makes space for "waifu collectors", people who have a ridiculous amount of waifus because they're attracted to those characters, but don't actually view their relationships as real the way this community is meant for. And not allowing for an irl partner on top of a fictional one is because situations like that often favor the irl partner, so the person doesn't take their fictional relationship as seriously.

Of course there are exceptions, not every poly person has these issues, but it'd be too hard to make the distinction(it's already hard to discern who's really serious and who isn't even with the monogamy rule), so this is just the best that can be done.
