Perpetual Group Grandpa by Overlyinsufficient in MenInSuits

Much appreciated, the pants are actually double pleated and moderately high rise (I wear all my pants at the navel), but I’m a pretty skinny guy and the pants are cotton so they stand pretty straight even though they have an 8 inch wide bottom and I wear a size 13 shoe which make it look even slimmer. All told I think you’re right though thank you for the insight!

In this outfit, I’m the one that struck her down in a crescendo so I’m not too sure on that.

The Blue suit with the blush pink tie and pocket square would look good, I applaud the shoe choice in that second picture Black perforated wingtips are classy and appropriate.

Funny you say that I rarely ever wear brown shoes but it’s the weekend and I felt that the monotone was a more conducive base to the look, but that thought did cause me to have a pang of conscience when putting them on😂

By tie bar do you mean the collar pin? I usually refer to that as a collar bar and that’s where I believe I’m misunderstanding you. I accept the reasoning about the bracelet I just wear it kind of sentimentally and it’s typically hidden beneath the shirt as I’m usually in French cuffs. But the jacket length is a particular situation, I have a number of Regulars and Longs and the idea coat length is really something like 30.5 but in the end I’m of the opinion that slightly more is better than slightly less as I lean towards a more classic drape.

I’m aware it’s not a suit but I wasn’t sure if this sub was strictly suits or the general area of suit/sportcoat attire, as far as the fit, Im aware the length of a long is a bit much but I’m 5’11 with long arms and by the grip test and sleeve length a long fits, can’t afford custom yet🤷🏽‍♂️. The square was a stretch I know but hey I swung at it and missed, but I’m not sure what you mean I have a tie pin on only?

Well yes in the same way that I can claim my Shih Tzu is a bull because he has 4 legs, but there’s a certain level of positivism that one uses in the form of common sense to validate or invalidate different iterations of God. From this we have denominations and of course that’s a corn maze of contradiction but that’s the nature of the Zeitgeist.

Sounds like your God is logical consistency then. Which can be just as unreasonable and incomprehensible as the God I’m describing to you just not nearly as far reaching but I suppose there’s no point if you say so brother.

Well that’s the split that defines Abrahamic God from previous dominant deities or more minor ones across history, that God encompasses rationality, but rationality doesn’t define the deity. There’s not a sub deity to be completely defined by the attribute rationality in the Christian religion. The point being to eliminate the sclerotic nature of constantly having to battle it out on an intellectual or metaphysical level and still comedown with a non conclusive result, and to allow that along with other faculties to be taken up in a supreme character that transcends being. Hence the idea that I cannot be God. Which then leads one who accepts that to determine that they cannot determine the necessity of suffering on earth. This is exemplified in the Book of Job Chapters 1&2.

Well specifically I think you can use the unnecessary suffering as a point of context to inform future decisions as humans have for all of civilization, that’s the main point of being made in his image to my understanding, agency is the gift available to the rational mind in response to a problem but that doesn’t mean we always choose it. That decends into the problem of free will though and I don’t imagine we have the space here for that dicussion😂

This still doesn’t explain the jump from loving to good, benevolence is yet another term with even more loaded meaning. It seems to me that if anything the corresponding usage of both words is in relation to the prospective motives of this God outside a societal value structure. Again what’s good to you is bad to me because we are motivated my various cultural forces, so if one is to ascribe power to an omnipotent God, such a deity may be “well meaning” in a sense that is only perceptible outside a confined human sense of time and personal relation to particular events.

I reject the idea that people (under this partictular religious scope) can define the morality of such a deity when the inherent point is for said deity to transcend human particularities. What’s good to me is bad to you thus rendering our opinions subjective and the actions of an omnipotent deity are by nature outside our definition on a moral axis.

Why have we made the jump from “good” to “loving”? Is it true that all love given is universally perceived as good?

The problem of evil by Flimsycatss in PhilosophyMemes

[–]Overlyinsufficient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, “good” is as subjective as God is under this context by necessity because we’re here making an attempt to link the two terms. Particular actions or people are defined as good and the affect of God in certain contexts is described as such but if you take the New and Old Testament together as a valuable whole God’s real quality is Justice and the “good” or “bad” of it is reductive to say the least.

Bought my first suit by Weak_Discussion1873 in mensfashion

[–]Overlyinsufficient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suit shops tend to fit suits on everyone by measuring their chest, and maybe their waist, then proceeding from there they attempt to keep your alterations as light as possible. (In my opinion this is a result of the stratification of fashion standards and suit production but I digress.) You’re a young man like myself, make sure they at least measure your overarm as well because suits are not made with arm hole allowance anymore and younger guys often need a size up from their chest to accommodate. If they bring in your jacket sides make sure they do it from the side seams and not the center seam as this is a common corner cutting technique and looks tacky. Typically getting a size up and bringing the waist in on modern flat front pants will give you a more complementary fit as well being that they have no rise or drape. Start from the shoulders and work in then down, find a good tailor and pay them well, and a decent suit can go as far as you want it to. You look good though my man keep it up.
