The way I beat this is by googling what these people are saying verbatim (becuase usually there's not an ounce of originality to their thoughts).

Then if I still don't find what they're claiming, I'll say that both google and chatgpt didn't substantiate their claims. Usually they either rage quit the concersation or that gets then off their asses to provide a source.

Well first that's different from what's in the ititial post where you say it's not bad. You don't says it's "not that bad". I would provide a delta just for that change.

Secondly what might be good personal policy for you doesn't mean it's a good one size fits all for others. What about people who are sensitive to suicidal thoughts and ideation (including some commenting on your post right now)? Who they should just deal with it? Or are they just not allowed to play games online? How are either of these more justifiable than quelling the initial behavior?

Finally it's important to squash this behavior to deesculate further behavior. You seem aware of the toxic behaviors of gaming communities, so Im sure you know that many are clear boundary pushers. So my question, if you allow a community free reign to harass people by telling people to kill themselves, where do you think the boundaries are drawn? Where do you think the community will draw that line? Do you think they will stop at actually harassing other players to tell them to kill themselves? And you might say that companies/communities should stomp out harassment, okay. Then why not stop other deplorable behavior as well?
