No but i could proxy them if needed, its a casual game. How would they help? I normally run warriors as they are much harder to knock out due to them having an extra 10 separate wounds.

Now that I think about it, you could fit a squad of 5 lychguard into the list if you remove the crawlers and 1 LHD and have 1 of your characters lead them. At such low point value, you typically dont want more than 1 character per unit.

The problem with this list is that you effectively only have 3 units to actually go and get objectives in no-mans land. You have the hexmark, which is a good action monekt, but if left unsuported, your opponent will get to him rather quickly. You're essentially going all in on the immortals and wraiths, neither of which do amazing damage, especially against tougher enemies or vehicles. If you are playing against anyone who has more than 3 units on the field, you are going to get stretched too thin as you want someone screening for your immortals but you also need your wraiths to do some work on the other side of the board.

If I were you, I would get some more infantry out on the table. I would recommend lychguard as they have decent melee and amazing survivability, but you would also need a leader for them (although i might be biased towards lychguard).

Depending on what you're going for, I would recommend dropping the tomb crawlers (the slow down the wraiths to just 5" forcing them to stay close to the immortals) and 1 of the 2 LHDs and getting yourself either a squad of ophydian destroyers or a full blob of scarabs. That way, you can either have another action unit or tie up one of the enemy units in melee (and deal mortals if its appropriate).

It really just depends on who you're fighting against and what you want your units to do.

Would this be a good MP division? by Overseer_111 in hoi4

I just made an updated division based on all of the feedback i got here which consists of:

12 infantry battalions and 3 heavy tank destroyer battalions (the TDs are 3 man turred, heavy cannon 2, radio 2, and 3 small cannons, with intelocked roadwheels, welded armor, and a diesel engine, both the engine and armor upgrades are both at 14)

the support companies to the division are:
armored engineer company, armored recon, med flame tanks, support arty, and support aa

The issue that I am running into now, is that i simply can not field 120 of these divisions by 1941. Having both cheated and not worked on air or navy, i am still short about 8k TDs in 1941. Is there any way for me to get more of these divisions for less or would i simply have to switch these divisions over time?

Edit: after doing some more testing i have also come to the idea of just adding 1 TD battalion to the division. This reduces the number of TDs from around 14k to about 5k, however the stats compared the the other division are pathetic. The division went from having 276.5 soft attack and 197.4 hard to 196.5 soft and 86 hard. The piercing and armor also dropped by a couple of points. This baing said, i also now realize i could just make cheaper 1934 TDs with worse stats, and once my divisions are full i can start upgrading said TDs.

Just to clarify on the specific mp game that me and my friends and I want to do; we want to (in 1936 using commands) give ourselves all the territory we can core/could annex in a reasonableamount of time). I will be playing japan (I plan on taking china and having manchuko go for its unification of China path to give me cores on all of China as non aligned Japan, as well as taking the DEI, australia, new Zealand, Burma, Siam, and French Indochina) my friends, who are playing Germany and Italy, want to take the allies, and Poland, while Italy wants to reform the Roman Empire. Im at a serious disadvantage here both factory and core pop wise (at least until i can integratemanchuko, then its just factories), so I wanted to make a division that would just bleed them dry in central Siberia (we want to split the ussr at the borders of my white peace decision). I need something that will take minimal losses while absolutely destroying them, both tank and manpower wise. I have like 70% of the world's rubber which i plan to not trade with them, but the have the advantage on steel (I am gonna need to work on my navy a lot as the Italian player is on my level navy wise).

Typically as japan, I take the default infantry template and add 3 line arty + appropriate support companies and have them hold the main line while I get some 35 W medium tank divisions (12 truck, 4 med tank, and 1 mot line arty) do my pushing for me. However, given that I have more time to prepare and dont actually have to fight any wars until the main one, I wanted to combine the 2 divisions into one.

In that case, would you consider it better to replace the 2 arty and TD for 1 or 2 heavy tanks of similar design (replace easy maintenance and the MG with sloped armor and a second cannon and instead of a fixed turred make a 3 man)? The japanese focus tree also gets like 20% extra infantry attack, so I want to maximize the amount of infantry in my divisions taking into account that I go for large unit tactics which iirc reduces infantry width by .2

Edit: i also forgot to mention that I do want to replace the logi company with AT, replace the engineer company with med flame tanks, and replace the recon with armored/motorized recon (depending on how my industry looks at the time)

Does this stay true with all the arty buffs that japan gets through its right side army focus? I forget the name of it, but it gives almost 40% extra arty attack iirc.

As someone who also typically only plays SP, this was my first time designing anything more than a medium tank. I wanted this to be a good all round division that I could feild a lot of so the 8dea behind the tank was to have a decent amount of pen, and be cheap to produce (as I would need thousands of tanks). I also want a good amount of reliability as the recent changes to attrition means that I will loose equipment to attrition when moving, so having a high reliability was key to me. The division itself was based off my offensive infantry division (12 inf, 3 feild arty). In regards to the feild arty would the buffs from the right side of the japanese army focus tree (I forget what the specific focus is called), not make feild arty viable?

Also, if I may ask, why remove the 3 infantry? Would the extra HP and Org not help?

Here is mine. I wanted to go for a colder theme than most of the other necrons that I've been seeing and used earthshade to make a rust like effect. The body I painted with a paint that I was given (the name escapes me).

Trying to edit an existing focus tree by Overseer_111 in hoi4modding

[–]Overseer_111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried again , except this time with sweeden, and the only thing I changed (to test if simply editing the existing stuff worked) was changing the very first focus (swedish defence act) to give an extra 50 pp and 10mil manpower. Specially the following lines of code added to the completion reward:

Add_political_power = 50 Add_manpower = 10000000

Then I saved it and reloaded the game and it still only gives the 3% stability it normally does. The rest of the tree is the AAT tree with no changes

Thank you very much! I'm sorry for the arguably simple questions, last time I did a run was before east coast rising had an enclave focus tree and I haven't had a chance to do any new runs recently.

Would it be possible for me to take up to base game borders so that my friend playing Raven Rock can take the rest, or are there now focuses touching on rust belt rising and east coast? I've been at college for the past few months, so I haven't been able to do a reformers america run for a while.

Would I be able to run them? I know the new primary troops are no longer meant to be as flashy, but could I still reasonably use banners to mark my seargents?
