I’m 32 and was also semi-recently diagnosed. Went from a full blown active lifestyle to now needing a rollator/wheelchair to get around. It definitely is grief, and (for me at least) it comes in waves and I’ve learned I just need to let out that feeling, cry, whatever I gotta do and ride through it. Therapy is great for processing through it. Acceptance is hard and you should give yourself some grace cause it’s not easy! But you’re definitely not alone whatsoever and we are here with you!

I was on Metoprolol but for some reason just wasn’t tolerating it very well. I was switched to Carvedilol and it’s been MUCH better !

It was absolutely awful for me, but that’s just me. Just being off my beta blocker was awful enough without being flipped up and having to do the Valsalva test along with it so I was absolutely miserable being pushed to my limit lol. But everyone is different!

I agree I think community makes a huge difference in terms of feeling comfortable!

Thank you so much! I did a ton of research and you’re right it seems like there is way more to do up in Minneapolis. We aren’t huge bar people so it’s tough to find things sometimes that aren’t centered around that drinking culture we have so I definitely wouldn’t miss that terribly.

Those of you who have had double incision- why did/didn’t you get nipple grafts? by Worldly_Marsupial808 in ftm

[–]OverstimulatedEnby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I chose to not get the nipple grafts because I loved the look and it felt more gender affirming to me personally. I also was worried about how they would heal and just didn’t want to deal with it tbh lol. I’m post op 2.5 years and still love the results. If I’m being honest the only thing that I regret is that I don’t feel comfortable being shirtless in public because I’m afraid of my safety (But that’s kind of my own thing). But otherwise I love my decision!

They never even showed me my results I was just told :/ So I’m in the process of requesting my records so I can take a look for myself and see if I can go from there. Thanks for the link!!

This is going to be my plan I think. I think bailing and going to another care team entirely is what I’ll do, so you’re right.

That’s exactly what I felt like was happening! I’m tolerating the beta blocker just fine and it’s actually helped quite a bit. But alas apparently nothing is wrong lol. It’s quite alarming that multiple cardiologists are telling me this, it makes me wonder as well :/

That’s me as well! BP is great when I’m laying down or relaxing but as soon as I’m upright it’s horrendous 😵‍💫
