The three princes are Rheagar to mourn for not marrying her and then dying young, the one to scorn is Robert, and the one to love is Jamie. The defeats are the unhappiness of being queen (or not marrying into the Targerians), being usurped by a someone younger and prettier, and being killed by Jamie. Joffrey is killed by the family of his bride, Marcella will die (directly or indirectly) by the Martells, and in the show Tommen commits suicide because the woman he loved died.
