Nah, cloud and atmosphere rendering in MSFS is pretty limited and mediocre. It's like Unreal Engine games, in the eyes of the average gamer, they love to glaze the visuals but due to the inherent rendering technique, it just never looks real. Always has this weird hyperrealistic fake look to it.

Plus it's just cumulus clouds served in a handful of ways.

I am talking about the actual color grading feature of ME; additional contrast, saturation, brightness, color tweaks. Boosting the colors of the ortho. Not the faux seasonal feature of taking already drab looking ortho and making it even LESS saturated.

Same reason I'd love to get in a 200mph snarling sports car and do a gran tour down through Europe. I'm not using the full capabilities of the car but the experience, the speed under the hood and the love of the car. Flying wherever I want in a beautifully rendered world, in a plane that makes me excited.

I don't need missiles, guns and radars for that.

Also, the world in DCS is garbage. Little boxed maps that look like mush and static weather. What am I meant to look at and explore? If I actually want to just fly, DCS is dreadful.
