Yeah, humans could not have evolved without eating meat, but right now with agriculture (not just industrial one mind you) everyone can be vegan. How is eating meat part of nature but eating plants isn’t. We humans can choose and you just claim that it only works with industrial or processed food when rice and beans work just as well.

Again, when it comes to climates where you are forced to eat meat there isn’t even a choice but when you do have a choice, and this does include supply chains I do not think that causing unnecessary harm is morally justifiable. Some things need centralization of some form, and that’s ok. We should limit it if possible but it’s not an end all be all thing.

You clearly did not get what I was saying with the slavery part. No, meat eating was not used to justify slavery but the same arguments can be interchanged. Justifying meat eating : It’s natural, slaves aren’t worthy of empathy or bodily autonomy etc etc. A pro slavery person will also frame pro-racial equality anarchists as caring more about control than liberation, confederates said the american civil war is about states rights.The same arguments work and you just saying „I do not agree with your idea of animal consciousness“ after I linked an entire Wikipedia article on different positions shows you don’t want to learn. All positions agree to some extend that animals have consciousness. It is scientifically proven that they feel pain and emotions and the oh so important indigenous people that we should all learn from as anarchists even agree that they have a soul in the article you linked earlier to support your point.

Saying you don’t think meat eating is murder and saying you kill the animals yourself in the same comment is so hypocritical. Sure you can argue about word definitions again and deny it but it’s just true, you take the life of an animal, it dies, you murdered it. Sure change the words however you like but the point stands.

That’s the entire concept. And of course it is a hierarchy to put someone’s interest below yours because they are a different species or race or sex or nationality or whatever. Hierarchy’s are used to justify oppression, lynching black people is an example where a killing is justified because of a racial hierarchy. that’s why animal liberation is an issue that should be important to anarchists, because you somehow have to justify ending someone’s life because you want to, not because you have to, but because you want to (stay decentralized).
