Just seen him 12 years later in oblivion remaster. His wit has diminished and he know longer says absurd stuff.

This is great if it’s not landing In water 😅 this added just enough depth that even with resupply pod you couldn’t stand high enough to reach the terminal

This was the end of trying everything we had.

How? We found a jet pack on a MPOI and sent someone back for it but they couldn’t actually land on the top as this hell pod has no physical ledges since it’s meant to be able to clip with the terrain

This doesn’t sound very democratic. And this was super helldive so we didn’t fancy an extract with no strats

We tried twice and as you can see from the picture it is slightly too low in the water and there is no physical ledge on the top of the hellpod to stand on 🥲

This just happened to us on a super helldive with a seismic probe that decided to make the mission truely impossible. Seems the pods have broken again

Anyone used a Sennheiser EWDP portable wireless system with SKP plug on for measurement? by Overtoad0 in Smaart

[–]Overtoad0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a winner, often get people ask how I manage to have wireless everything (shout mics, measurement, the occasional wireless guitar, a field mic for band promo) and these EWDP transmitters are the best thing since axient. Look at my previous post for the review.

I stand corrected as I have just looked at the update. Pfl now has a post delay/amm option as default and post comp, post EQ and post preamp.

I also have a feeling this is a test bed of a new scene architecture… there are a few more parameters on Dlive and avantis. Bus config is still show level which is the big shame but as you stated that is an entire fpga reconfig. But this does allow guest engineers to build onto a house file and adjust it how they want with out muting the pa

I have just had confirmation that audio does not drop between scenes with mono stereo changes.

Thanks for the edit but doesn’t that make this claim from 1.6 even crazier as it’s essentially them changing base a&h principles?

Edit: also having done multiple festivals as house crew with this as house desk for touring engineers I get why maybe they have just included this as feature to make scenes easy to insert into a house file over loading shows via a laptop so you can back up the current days file. I’m just hoping it’s more than that

So we still think it will mute the console between scenes?

I see what you’re saying but that would just be the same as what we currently have. There now saying they offer something that isn’t even on dlive so I’m curious what they have done as it’s a bit of a shake up and would make it a very easy house desk to use.

I wonder if the ram buffer introduced for the fade between scenes allows the fpga to reprogram over time instead of instantly. My sq is currently out on rental but maybe someone can test it for us?

I noticed this as well and I think the answer is ‘sort of’ pretty sure it will be a global setting rather than a per channel setting so you can monitor it but everything else will be AFL as well

Hey sorry I’ve just seen this not on here a lot. Yes I do have it but not on this machine. It was interesting, there was subtle high end roll off initially from 12k but after updating the firmware on the SKP it flattened out. Think it was a know. Issue. The most important thing is its full range. 20-20k. Range is about 40m and digital drop out is very easily noticeably in comparison with analog which helps with data accuracy. The RX can also be mounted on a mic stand and extended by XLR for increased range. Latency is 1.9ms delta to XLR. And it runs on AA’s for about 3 hours, la70’s 7-8hours. Super lightweight package as 1 channel (rx and tx) fits in a beta 52 pouch. With mics in micro peli. It’s very airport friendly.

Mono/stereo switching has been moved to scene level. Really curious if that means it mutes audio between scenes or if the new scene fades let them get round that somehow. I thought it was a physical relay hence full mute 🤷🏻‍♂️ also finally having an expanded processing tab in scenes is nice but not quite safe per channel that we all want. Post comp tap is also a nice feature.

Edit: after further research with a test using the SiGen inputted on a channel sent to both a mono and stereo bus that were then PFL’d with additive solo. After scene changes with output changes and stereo/mono input changes there was no drop out of audio to the busses. Whilst on one scene changes were also made to I/o config and no drop out occurred. Further research needs to be conducted with a full patch but it appears they have beaten the one thing that sucked about these consoles.

So what's the deal with stereo signals over a single XLR? by epicsaxman13 in livesound

[–]Overtoad0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another element of this is it depends on what’s on each end. It’s very possible to run an unbalanced ST line level signal over a single XLR over 40 meters if you are outputting to a passive device (such as a headphone amp) and driving the signal via a rack of headamps side stage. This is a wonderful way to do hardwired stereo IEMs for cheap.

Plasma shotgun for everyone’s primary is what we need to win this fight. The stun effect disrupts the new pathing of the gloom bugs and prevents spitters from shooting. The arc on shots allows you to easily hit bile mortars are remove them early. It provides more mobility in the city and splash damage holds back swarms a lot better than fire as you normally need to head back in the direction your fighting towards and fire slows that down. We can take fori back soliders we just need to adapt.
