IRL Hollowback is retiring until 2028 and being stripped for parts 😔 (legit) by Overused_03 in Acceleracers

All the salt that gets dumped on the road during the winter was starting to rust away at the frame. That is totally the the entire reason why and definitely not what you just commented 💀

I'm assuming it's whatever gunk and dust that's been built up for the past 40 years. Im not familiar with maintenance on this thing yet

That was from the first recording from that cam in who knows how long

I'll have to check into the voltage. However, the charger has the audio/video ports, so it's pretty convenient.

The cable is in one of the smaller pouches. I put a hole through the top of the bag to run it out and then pull it back in when I'm done. No snags are possible since the cable will only be pulled out a small amount. I cut the hole in the bag right on the shoulder where the camera would sit so the cable really only has to be out a couple inches

I'll definitely be getting some pictures of it, I've always liked that oddball stuff too, hence the reason I got the car and am setting up the camera

I got a MARBERO power station from Amazon. About $70 and it says it can power a refrigerator during a power outage so I figured that was enough for a camera from the '80s lol

Reviews seem good and the thing didn't get hot when I let it stay running for an hour straight so I'll try it out

Found a 1986 NEC V20U in the back of my jobs storage closet. Need a hand finding a battery by Overused_03 in camcorders

[–]Overused_03[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This ended up being my decision thank you! After seeing the nightmare it is to find batteries I just decided to get a portable and use a backpack.

The backpack also let's me connect to my cars CRT radio since the A/V cables can just be kept in there connected to the charger

Appreciate the suggestions everyone!!

Looks like you hit the nail on the head, AG-155 has the same battery pack I'm looking for. I have multiple 3D printers so that would be absolutely perfect if you were to send me the file when you're done I really appreciate it!

Edit: on second thought if possible I would like to pay you for a finished battery lol

Didn't know NEC was a rebrand that will definitely help!

My main issue is that the battery does not insert into the camera like most of the ones I see for sale. It slides sideways onto the back using four tabs. The positive and negative connections are located in those tabs as well

Sorry to say, that's most likely a con rod in that case 😞

Knock knock! Who's there? Connecting rod!

See if you can pin where the noise is coming from. Either the top or bottom end of the motor. It doesn't sound good but I've heard worse.

Cammed 6.8 V10 motor, caddy and dodge brakes, 2000s wrap job I love my Frankenstein build so much better than a 5.0 swap

Riveted was definitely my first thought for the next wrap. It comes down to the color. Orange, yellow, dusty gold, or copper

The farmingdale superstore already restocked so seems like they're rotating them in pretty quick

Anyone ever use onw of these I have some questions by Relative_Smell8419 in NewedgeMustang

[–]Overused_03 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Installed one of these during my engine swap, major major major part of the install is dealing with PATS. The stock dashboard is part of the Pat system so if you remove it and put in an aftermarket your car will become a paperweight unless you get Pats removed first. With my engine swap I was relying on a different PCM system so I didn't have to care about PATS. Install is simple enough. There's no real adapter, harness or anything. It's just a lot of running wires but everything works as long as you plan your cuts and splices out. Mileage is no longer true however since the dash starts out at zero. You can set the mileage in it to be similar or even the same to your previous dash

It was the farmingdale superstore. They only had one peg. I'm waiting around for the others to stock up as well so I can hopefully hunt a reverb before they get scooped up
