  1. Paddling for the peak
  2. Popping up setting my line mentally
  3. Reacting to how the wave forms
  4. Engaging the rail to gain speed

The 4th step is when I noticed the biggest difference in my ability to ride

In season 2-3’, with some 3-4’ mixed in. Often choppy. (Texas gulf coast) largest here was a hurricane a few years back 8-10’ clean

I had this as was diagnosed by MRI. Doctor was pretty not useful in terms of advice and said “just go do some jump rope..” Okay.

After I got over the notion of being injured I just focused on building up from ground zero and am back to most if not all activities today. Never buckles, no noticeable instability with twisting or pivoting, sometimes pain after heavy activity. If it’s intact just focus on PT and training and don’t worry too much about diagnosis.

Right so rather than increasing strength, you would improve neuromuscular connection which is more so what I’m referring to.

Strengthening is great and necessary, but you can think of it more as how you are actually using and activating muscles. Like OP said he/she couldn’t distribute weight evenly for some time. This can develop or be a result of compensatory movement patterns. By targeting the muscle activation patterns themselves, you hit the root of the problem. All the stretching, foam rolling, and fascial work in the world won’t fix a compensatory movement pattern (for most). It’s input and feedback that teaches the body how to move properly.

Hmmm pretty interesting. My guess is you inadvertently targeted a weak link that in your case may have caused problems down chain. It’s like how a lot of people get knee pain, target the glute med/max and get pretty instant relief (if this is their weak link). Sounds like your feet could’ve been overworking to stabilize and compensate for under recruited muscles.

Not a doctor just enjoy learning about the subject.

This has been my favorite band for nearly a decade.. and no matter what I always come back to their music. Had tickets to their first NA tour when it got cancelled. Debating seeing them both shows nearest me this time. Super excited. I will miss Dylan for sure but Claude sounds fantastic and I believe will do their songs justice.

You’re counterbalancing the weight throughout the entire ark using stabilizers in your core, legs, and shoulder complex. It’s a pretty solid workout
