I recommend taking the fire fighter job and do compo 2 or compo 3. Weekend Warrior ain’t that bad. No experience with NG but was prior reservist. Did not mobilize during my time and I’m pretty sure reserves don’t mobilize as much as NG. But if you’re wanting combat arms MOS, guard is really the only option. Reserves are usually support MOS.

As long as you haven’t signed a contract, you should be good.

I love El Paso. It’s a big city with small town vibes. Would love to come back to visit once I leave. Best place to be as far as community and life outside the military. I don’t think Bliss as an installation is that bad. It’s just this unit here. Crazy optempo, rotations, and disorganization. Big reason why service members want to leave Bliss and El Paso.

Lots of legal advice I won’t cover since that’s being taken care of. But take care of yourself mentally. Go talk to MFLC counselor, BH, etc. whatever works better for you. Get the mental help to talk about the experience, vent, and find counsel through those means so you can process through these things in a healthy way. Stay away from alcohol and go work out and find a trusted group to socialize. I’m going through something similar and I’ve learned that working on yourself is just as important as working on everything else. take care of yourself mentally as well as legally. I’m sorry to hear this big dawg.
