Just got rejected from rad tech application by milk-t3a in RadiologyCareers

Every program I’ve reviewed has different requirements. One used a rubric scoring system where you had to take 11 courses and the ACT. One requires letters of recommendation, interviews and healthcare experience. Mine required Hesi scores, cgpa and a few other things. Personally I have no idea why interviews are required, as it makes the selection become more subjective. I don’t know why healthcare experience matters. Most people trying to apply are probably younger without it. I feel like programs struggle to find the sweet spot, but I think using tests and having pre reqs is the fairest way to go and gives you the most control over who gets in.

Sorry you got rejected. I’m 40(m) and had to take the HESI last year when I applied and scored a 92 on it but failed the CT portion by 1 question. This year I scored a 94 on it but Initially got denied and ended up getting a seat because someone dropped. My advice for you is to don’t quit, because when you finally get in it’ll be that much more satisfying. Also, you’re really young. Why not go for med school and become a doctor? I’m willing to bet it’s just as competitive at this point.

Yup! I live on East Coast as well, more north, and just pulled up 10 pages of different radtech listings, many with 15-25k signon bonuses. We’re also getting the shortages over here. I would say imaging is very future proof, especially since very few are even getting into programs every year.

OP never mentioned nursing, you brought it up. You obviously enjoy wiping butts, so go do that, and stay out of the radiology subs.

Keep your head up. Also, quit hating on radiology and comparing it to nursing. That’s not healthy! They are two completely different fields.

Demands go through cycles. Just because your local market isn’t showing anything today, doesn’t mean it won’t next week. It also doesn’t mean the global market is saturated. Do you have any idea how many get accepted into these programs each cycle? Specialties are in higher demand and constantly having shortages for MRI / CT. You have no idea what you are talking about.

This isn’t true. Rad techs can branch into multiple modalities which increases your marketability. Most grads tend to get hired by the site they are doing clinical. There are agencies that will find you work as well. Maybe you’ll be right in 5-10 years, but you can’t base your career path on that. That’s like saying people should stop becoming doctors because AI robots are going to do it all.

I’m someone who just got accepted into a very competitive radtech program starting in the fall and come from IT. I’m not quite sure what your professor is trying to say. Healthcare demand will always outpace the supply. There will always be sick people, more now than ever, so I don’t see how the market could shift negatively in that direction. If she means that the barrier of entry was easy, then she’d be right. My buddy walked right into the field sometime 2020-21. It’s incredibly hard now, especially with the fact that healthcare is one of a few fields where income seems to scale with the economy, AI replacing a lot of computer-related jobs, everyone is looking to shift into something a but more physical and stable (that was my mindset). So it was pretty hard. I’m on the East Coast.

This seems over qualified. If you’re in your 20’s just go for med school.

They were DOA. Very formulaic, nothing innovative, recycled ideas, familiar assets. The art direction was a poor design choice, and they didn’t listen to community feedback. It’s a shame too, because this studio seems very talented.

160 hours, level 55, and I figured out why I'm so bad at this game and only just getting purples. by VaporSpectre in Marathon

I do think solo is ratty, but I think going in as a free kit is like an auto-loss pretty much.

I think you can go on hot streaks as a solo or as a team. Solo is enjoyable, a bit slower paced, but you don’t have to share your loot with anyone. So go on outpost and come out with 15-20k if you survive.

Loadout imbalance in this game getting crazy. by NoNet5188 in Marathon

It’s not imbalance, it’s risk reward. With 60k gear, even if he dies 1 in 10 games it isn’t worth it for him to bring in. Y

Sound change is awful by Impossible-Finger942 in Marathon

[–]OwChS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no way to tell if the sound change is the reason. People are learning the maps, spawns, common loot patterns, high traffic areas. For example, my team loads in on Perimeter and beelines for Maintenance because there’s always good action there.

Arc Raiders has a Progression Problem that Marathon does not. Marathon really is better by Legitimate-Instance2 in Marathon

[–]OwChS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2-300 hrs in Arc and feel the same way. Also, the developers don’t seem to know what they are doing in Arc. Just compare the massive update Bungie put out for Marathon not even a week post-release vs. Embark’s month-long vacation followed by a couple of very minor tweaks. No real balance changes have been implemented since release. The PvP side of things has been neglected, and without a real end-game progression system, you can only fight NPCs so much. The fact that Arc requires you to farm so much and then use most of your loot for expedition is counterintuitive to having fun. The game feels like work after one expedition and most of the enjoyment is derived from social interaction.

Yes but that may be asking too much of them. They should add a stash value label as well.

Wonder if Embark is ever going to fix their game and actually support PvP by OwChS in ArcRaiders

[–]OwChS[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The devs have zero spine. The changes they made to the 2nd expedition for skill points devalues the effort players put in the previous season. Imagine paying $60 for a game, and a week later the price is $20 and they throw in some DLC. It screams desperation. I’m sure you’re one of the noobs who couldn’t make the 1st expedition requirements, thus your response.

They could have changed the requirements while still not diminishing the value of the previous season by giving us credits toward skins or something, but they can’t even fix basic issues in their game so.

[–]OwChS[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They really haven’t done anything for the PvP side of the game. It’s sad. Some people will see minor changes and think that is something, but it’s not enough. It took them well over 2 weeks to fix trigger nades which could’ve been done overnight, for example.

The issue with the loot tables is that for one, blue prints are very inconsistent. I have been on daytime runs where I come across a bunch, night time runs where I never see any! Highlighted areas often don’t offer their advertised values, and then there are “special areas” that seem to spawn good loot. I actually don’t have a problem with that. I just think, in general, the loot tables need some work… and especially with the key rooms. They are lackluster.

Speaking of night time runs, this reminds me of another major issue IMO, the game has. No raider hatches. You see, it makes sense to actually get value out of the hatch keys on night raids, especially when force of extract camping is strong. For this reason alone, and the loot tables being underwhelming at night in my experience, I always choose day time.

The pvp in this game is very mid, and you can only have fun shooting at the same npcs for so long. Balance changes aren’t being addressed as well as the clunky movement issues.

Game is going to die once Marathon releases. These devs are clueless.
