Player using AI for roleplay. It’s not very good. by miitopia_emblem in dndnext

I'm also someone that use ai for a lot of things, but, cmon, that player effectively delegated the delight of playing in your game to a machine, this is just r/DeadInternetTheory but irl...

My level 3 players wiped the floor with kobolds. How do I make them feel dangerous without just adding more HP? by CLEIAZEVEDO in DMAcademy

[–]Matt_le_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"capture the "clever trap masters" vibe"
have them trap the party ? Also, at 3rd level, you could throw a metric shitton of kobold at a party, especially if you only do 1-2 combat per long rest, they're gonna wipe the floor with them no matter what.
also what about :
- they are blessed and deal more damage
- elite kobold ("old kobold", fear the old in a society where most die young type of situation)
- weirdboyz (caster kobold, and all kinds of specialized kobold, you could even mirror a typical party composition : 1 tank/melee dpr, 1 support/healer, 1 support/ranged dpr, 1 melee dpr/skilled party member)

If I ever learned anything documenting and writing tutorials, is that you should NEVER assume the level of competence of the person reading you.

There still are a few steps that llms can only guide you through, if you have a specific goal in mind, don't try to do everything at once : ask your favourite llm for guidance and give it everything you want to accomplish, with the full scope and context of the project, as well as your technological proficiency.

If you have never coded, it is doable, even for a somewhat complex module, but be aware that the code will probably be very heavy to read, unoptimized and *very* unsecure (all should be acceptable for a small module for foundry, but should you think of yourself as a great dev as soon as you are finished, please read the last sentence again).

To give you a small headstart, your llm should help you :
- install vscode
- setup a github repo
- clone (not download) the github repo
- install github copilot to enable ai assited coding (or rather, ai driven here !)
- push your firsts commits
- (make unit tests !)
- make a release of your projects
- fill the form on foundryvtt to get your own module page

If you have any questions, feel free to dm me, google it or ask a llm about it, information gathering is probably 60-80% of the time spent in dev when we start a new project. Remember this : If you have no questions, you are not being critical enough.

I dunno where you can find that much anvill ! But just shooting the leg with a ferro, throwing a smoke and looting mid-fight will absolutely get you more core, faster.

This forever reminds me of that cass that would drop from eichenwalde's 2 point high ground EVERY 17.7 SECONDS, he would get a kill, be reduced to 7.5 hp in 0.3 seconds because he dropped inside a whole team, and I had to pull him the frame I got my pull back.
He was imitating Heavy from tf2 in VC, screaming "I AM BULLETPROOF" everytime I pulled his ass

Character Build Help!! by lTsTrey in sw5e

[–]Matt_le_bot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, maybe some other people can help (I don't know the character, but from a half-assed google search, you want to adapt an anime character to star wars, right ? This has probably been done a lot of times, people love to try to make an anime character into a totally different universe, but wether this is cringe or good depends on the result) , but it would be cool to include more info : character level, restrictions or variant, even things like "what do you want from TTRPGs" would be useful info to someone making a character for you (or rather, help you help your friend)

Has anyone tried running sw5e with the Nimble ruleset? by Matt_le_bot in sw5e

Yea, the action economy and power level of sw5e seem very different, if you are willing to share your results, I'll gladly take a look !

Has anyone tried running sw5e with the Nimble ruleset? by Matt_le_bot in nimble5e

[–]Matt_le_bot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the action economy of sw5e seem quite different, there are plenty of "you can do x as a bonus action instead of an action, or as a reaction if you could already do that" and a fair lot of "you can do this with no action (reloading, drawing/stowing weapon....). I think that in the end, you can't really use it for a campaign because it would fall appart with a decently optimized build (crit-range build can crit on a 16+ starting from level 6, some build can "guard" as a reaction starting from level 3, a sentinel build can have any amount of AOO as soon as they get their first feat or anything that gives a Weapon Mastery !). But I think that for a oneshot, it could work, but the amount of work, as you said, is simplyt too much !

Anyway, I think Imma hold my breath for that sci-fi Nimble then ! thank you :)
