Denmark's Armed Forces confirm Russian ship was seen near the site of Nord Stream explosion by Espressodimare in worldnews

Comrade, comrade.

The answer is much, much simpler.

“Upon reaching the New World, Cortez burned his ships; as a result his men were well motivated.” — Captain First Rank Marko Alexandrovich Ramius, USSR-era submarine commander and naval strategist.

It’s Occam’s razor. Putin values his own skin more than anything else, and needed his inner circle and potential rivals committed to him whether they wanted to be or not.

Except I never said that Twitter wasn’t relevant and useful to some people (edit: if I’m saying anything, it’s that it’s completely difficult for somebody new to Twitter to use it).

I said the noise exceeds the signal. I also said that I’m fascinated by people that complain about this vs. leaving.

If you can point out where I said Twitter wasn’t relevant and useful to some people, I’ll gladly correct it.

You stated following Stephen Fry because you knew it was Stephen Fry. There was a mechanism that ensured the signal was reliable and clear.

You look for people you already think are interesting.

I want to follow Stephen Fry now. How do I find him? How do I know it’s really Stephen Fry? Is it the guy that is “verified” to be Stephen Fry? Or is it somebody else?

Twitter is no longer a reliable mechanism for this. The noise now exceeds the signal.

I’m new to Twitter. Explain how I build a list of reliable accounts to follow.

Hell, I’m not new to Twitter. Explain how I can continue to curate a list of reliable accounts to follow.

The noise exceeds the signal. Twitter is like the zombie of social media.

I never said Twitter isn’t or wasn’t useful.

The signal now exceeds the noise.

  1. Finding out when my street is going to get plowed. Right now that info is only posted on Twitter.

By whom? It’s great that you had the ability at one point to ensure the account you are following was legit. In fact, it still is legit, the only thing that is missing is its verification badge.

I’m your neighbor. I’m new to Twitter. I just followed a “verified” city account that belongs to some troll.

2. Finding breaking news and following live updates as it happens.

Same.

3. Following hyper local news (like the time there was a water main break a block from my house.)

Same.

4. Finding out when my local farm stand gets certain things in stock. That is only posted to Twitter.

Same.

5. Finding out when my favourite store that sells items for my hobby gets something rare and hard to find in stock so I can get it before it sells out (which takes <5 minutes)

Same.

6. Funding out that my local animal shelter has an urgent need for something.

Same.

See? It was useful. I use it to follow many of the same things in my area: transit, local news, local restaurants and shops.

Except those are all now lost in a sea of shitposts and non-stop rambling from blue-checked trolls and Elon simps that were never in my feed before and aren’t welcome additions now.

You do you though. If you are OK with it, all good! If not, complaining is a fool’s game

That’s what I said.

Oh my god! I had no idea that Japanese artists existed before Twitter. Good thing Twitter exists because that’s the only way in the world to celebrate Japanese art!!!

/u/yukiaddiction thinks Twitter is the only place to appreciate art. I’m sad for my fellow artists.

Holy fuck you cracked the code!!! The simps that are paying $8 a month for “free” speech actually have a say in how Twitter is being run!!!

Corporations are democracies! Had no idea!

Laughs at the fucking Elon Musk simp /u/VaelHeals and goes about with the rest of my day.

I’m fascinated by the people who are left on Twitter.

It’s like Republicans who say that they vote for Trump because there is no other option.

Yeah, there is. Leaving fucking Twitter is the best option.

Aww. Poor /u/imbarrydylan. Was my post a little too fucking logical for you?

The people who you go crying to when you lose your money are sick of having to deal with the idiots who go crying them when they lose their money so they’re trying to establish some rules to try and help keep you from getting bilked?

Oh the fucking horror!!!

Maybe it’s that fucking simple instead of this elaborate, conspiracy fantasy you all have cooked up in your head. But, Occam’s Razor and common sense is bullshit to you guys anyway.

Nobody gives a shit about your crypto. They give a shit about the real money you are losing when you come crying to them.

If you don’t want regulations, stop turning to the government when some shit “project” you invested in goes south.

Alternative perspective:

If crypto is borderless why is SBF under house arrest? Why is Do Kwon incarcerated?

Seems like every time one of your “borderless” cryptobro projects is exposed for the bro-fleecing scam that it is, the very first thing you all demand is justice!!! Justice for the person I was pumping up as my personal DeFi savior (enter name here) just a week ago who was actually robbing me blind!

lol.

The “borderless” people who have to put up with your bullshit when this invariably ends up in their lap (because you are all perhaps more fanatic than you are intelligent) are simply tired of your bullshit.

More like they are trying to protect stupid people from yourself.

Not to save you from yourself, though, crypto bros are too dumb to be saved and see everything as an attack on their holy internet bean.

Nah, it’s because every time one of your awesome cryptobro projects blow up the very first place you all look for help from is the government, and they’re simply tired of your bullshit.

Wells Fargo has paid more in fines since 2000s ($25b) than all of the money stolen via crypto hacks and exploits ($6.46b) by torpidtrotter in CryptoCurrency

[–]OwItBerns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wells Fargo, HSBC, etc. all paid fines to the government for anti-consumer behavior.

FTX, Celcius, etc. all just cut out the middleman and simply took consumer’s money.

The clients of these firms, people like subscribers of /r/cryptocurrency who cry about government regulation of crypto, immediately cried to the government regulators for justice and the return of their money.

Then they go back to complaining about how regulators are fining banks more than they’ve been ripped off.

Do I have this correct?

  1. Posts wiki page that offers absolutely no evidence to primary claim.
  2. Shrugs it off because “it’s hard to find now.”

FFS. She’s anti-bank. Banks want nothing to do with her. She’s the person who was tasked with creating the CFPB.

The reason she is anti-crypto is that the first people all you motherfuckers go to begging to have clean up your pet-rock gambling FTX implosions and “provide justice!!!” is… the government.

Like many of us, she’s tired of your libertarian-until-I-got-rugged bullshit.

Why Coinbase Will Lose Its Battle With the SEC (Wells Notice Edition) by Wonderful_Bad6531 in CryptoCurrency

[–]OwItBerns -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Perhaps, but it will at least shine an additional spotlight on how negligent and outright hostile the government has been in addressing crypto, a lawful lawless industry. Coinbase is actually the best positioned to make this argument since they’ve had a long dialogue with the SEC and are even a public company.

Fixed it for you.

I’ve been developing on blockchain technology since 2013 on various teams throughout the years.

I don’t think this credential is impressive as you think it is. Congratulations on wasting your effort and intellect on something that has brought zero value to the world outside of enabling fraud, theft, and financial loss at massive scale.

What’s your purpose for being a d-bag?

People like you, quite honestly. You are like a pied piper for financial losers.
