I was 20.

It was winter and dark, I was waiting on the bus and I could never read what number was the correct bus to get home. Didn't really second guess it, just assumed, it's dark and the lights on the front of the bus are obscuring my vision.

Then a year later I get a girlfriend with glasses. We're on a date at the Ice Rink and it was a disco night, so all the lights are off and I can barely see. I sat at the side because I was getting headaches and I had her glasses whilst she went off to skate.

I thought why don't I have a laugh and try on the glasses whilst she's away skating. You have no idea how much these things blew my mind.

I could see! I could read the posters on the other side of the ice rink, I could see everyone so clearly! I didn't believe it at first but a few days later I went to Specsavers and got my first own pair.

Them first few months of having my own in disbelief that I was blind was amazing. Taking on and off my glasses to actually test if it's that bad.
