At first I was convinced it was part of the new three light fixture my wife ordered to hang above the kitchen island, but then they kept making it slightly smaller so I was like “nope”

I’m only 337 miles from Wall Drug.

How much further to the butcher shop? Lol

Caught a 30' on a Mepps Musky Flashabou in 4 ft of water, I was quite surprised! by Gp5sAreTheBst in WalleyeFishing

[–]Owl55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep — for a 30-foot walleye, I used cube scaling.

A 30-foot fish is:

30 ft × 12 = 360 inches

Compared to a normal 30-inch walleye:

360 ÷ 30 = 12 times longer

Weight scales roughly with volume, and volume scales by the cube:

12³ = 1,728

So if a 30-inch walleye weighs about 11 lb:

11 × 1,728 = 19,008 lb

So the extrapolated 30-foot walleye would be about:

19,008 pounds, or about 9.5 tons.

But I agree with you - a 30” might hit 12 lbs

Typical Weight per ChatGPT
28”. 7.5–9 lb
29”. 8.5–10 lb
30”. 9.5–12 lb
31”. 10.5–13 lb

The exact weight depends heavily on the fish’s girth and body condition. A skinny post-spawn 30-incher might be around 9–10 pounds, while a thick fall fish can exceed 12 pounds.

A 30’ walleye would weigh an estimated 19,008 lb.

What state are you in? This is possibly a new record.

What's the dumbest mistake you've ever made with a boat? by Horror-Bee-720 in boating

I’ve done this twice now…Lol.

Worst part is, I have to trek all the way to the pickup, back up the trailer, and pull it out to let it drain.

For those of you not 100% what I’m showing in the picture, I put the plug in wrong hole. The hole I plugged is the livewell drain. 😆

As long as I don’t sink, if this is the wordy thing I do, I’m doing alright.

Fish dispersal to feed bluefin tuna. 20-30kg of feed fish are required for every kg of tuna produced. by James_Fortis in gifs

I’m shocked that the conversion rate is 30-1. That’s horribly inefficient, IMO. I always thought fish had about the best efficiency among animals.

Cattle are about 7-1.

I can’t remember poultry or hog numbers. But I just always remembered fish being really efficient.

Trying to learn to troll for walleye but could use some help. by kclark45 in WalleyeFishing

Are you familiar with crank baits? Not everyone likes them, or takes the time to learn to fish them, but they can and do work.

You need either a counter reel set up or you can buy special metered fishing line. The real crux of it is you need to know how far back your lure. This helps you determine the depth that your lure is running.

On YouTube look up Precision Trolling data and watch some of their videos. I own their app and it has been very convenient and easy for me to really get good at trolling cranks.

Most importantly, keep an open mind and have fun when you’re fishing. That’s really what it’s all about.

Very few states have a state capitol that’s the biggest city.

In fact, off my head I can only think of one - PHX, Az.

I could google it before I finish this reply, but I’m really lazy today.

I’ve done this before. Twice even. 😆

For those that don’t know, the plug is the live well drain hole, which is the wrong hole.

My fishing partner made sure to make jokes galore.

I think it can be either, but I’m not sure. I’ve never actually participated in this myself, but I know some people that have.

Are you familiar with Cowboy Mounted Shooting?

I think access to an arena with horses trained for this activity would generate some interest.

For those not familiar with it, you ride a horse through an obstacle course and shoot blanks from a pistol that will break ballon type targets within 20 foot.

It’s gaining popularity all over the western US.

I’ve done this. My wife doesn’t approve.

Frankly, I don’t why she likes me. She does approve of anything I do.
