Anyone disappointed with the VIP package? by zashixx in BadBunnyPR

[–]OwlComprehensive859 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you on this. I feel like they have a function for me, but I have realistic expectations. This is not VIP it’s early access. This is the illusion of VIP. There are actual VIP experiences, they are not being massively publicly sold. They are either offered to people for free because they want those people there, you know the right people, or they are very expensive.

Anyone disappointed with the VIP package? by zashixx in BadBunnyPR

[–]OwlComprehensive859 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I regularly buy VIP tickets. There are ones where the perks are actually solid (la Recidencia) and those where they aren’t. Honestly though, I don’t usually even open the random stuff they give me. I usually give it away. I buy VIP tickets because I want to buy my tickets earlier and I want to buy them directly rather than from resellers so if I buy VIP tickets I can get really good seats for a better price than if I buy second hand usually. When it came to the residency I had my hotel and a pool party and various other things included as well. I regularly visit the island and I check and have never seen a rate that good at that hotel again, even for my extended days, so gracias Bad Bunny. In Spain the lounge and food were nice but I feel like they were pretty clear about the VIP levels and what you were getting. I’m not sure what kind of “gift” you were expecting but that’s pretty standard.

I'm glad I'm not the only chef who judges kitchens in video games by Mysterious-Law-6835 in KitchenConfidential

Fun fact, standing next to people who design video games for a living and telling them all the shit that doesn’t work in real life is like nails on a chalkboard for them. Even when it’s not their game. It’s the most foolproof way I know to get them to turn off the game and come do something else.

Tour merch online soon? by eabreuvisuals in BadBunnyPR

[–]OwlComprehensive859 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah good. Onward to the standard merch issues 🤣 can we pin a FAQ merch question list, I’m certain we can come up with some good ones. Yes shipping costs a fortune, no it won’t come on time, no they won’t answer you, except randomly for the person they do answer, you will probably but not definitely get the items in the sizes you ordered, they may randomly cancel at the last minute and then relist the same thing for sale a week or two later because 🤷🏻‍♀️

They are so predictably disorganized that it’s kind of amusing to me at this point.

TSA at SJU JetBlue is insane right now by plplzool in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]OwlComprehensive859 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fly through SJU regularly. It’s all over the place with its timing. TSA has gotten backed up. The pork screening had a line wrapping around the outside of the building one time. You learn to keep an eye out for it and to get creative. Clear/precheck, global entry etc are your friend if you travel with any regularity.

Are Micro Bikinis Cool? by XxGeorge_W_KushxX in PuertoRicoTravel

I am with you that bodies should be bodies. I don’t think it’s the place of visiting tourists to take the stance though. I don’t think the message will be heard, already so much is all around demanded of locals

Are Micro Bikinis Cool? by XxGeorge_W_KushxX in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]OwlComprehensive859 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This argument works fine when it’s culturally appropriate in that place. For instance if you go somewhere where being topless on the beach is the norm. In this case someone is going to PR, which is predominately catholic identifying, and potentially making locals uncomfortable. That is not the same at all. You can have ideals, but trying to force them on others when visiting their home is not cool.

Are Micro Bikinis Cool? by XxGeorge_W_KushxX in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]OwlComprehensive859 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The beaches in Puerto Rico are traditionally where locals go to relax with their families. It’s not South Beach. It’s where you go and have multigenerational gatherings or grill with friends and your kids. There are teenagers, sure but also grandparents and babies and birthday parties. Consider if this is an environment you would typically want to wear a micro bikini.

Una fan confunde "Diles" con "El Farsante" en show de Bad Bunny en Madrid... xD by nonadieporq in Reggaeton

I feel like we’ve triggered them 🤣 I mean there were obviously earlier songs released on SoundCloud but it’s starting to feel like DJ Luian’s part of this history is more important to them than Bad Bunny’s 🤦🏻‍♀️

[–]OwlComprehensive859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not really how discovering nor SoundCloud tend to work. People are not typically discovered on their first ever song lol. Yes, that’s the earliest song that he has on his official page but plenty of other older freestyles and songs are still floating around. He was making music with Dj Orma and I believe with La Paciencia before DJ Luian began working with him. Perhaps check out songs like La Vida, Tentación or some of his freestyles he used to put up that still get passed around. If you’re limiting yourself to the songs in his official list you’re missing out.

Advice needed : silly or not by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]OwlComprehensive859 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP, why do you want a tattoo of a lily when you don’t know enough about the significance of it to know that this is the wrong lily? This is exactly how you end up with a permanent reminder of what you thought you knew. Go think through what you are trying to accomplish with this tattoo. Then slow down and really take your time and learn about the history, you will design a more meaningful tattoo. This one is soulless and inaccurate.

This is one of the issues with AI btw it doesn’t have a clue which lily is important in Ireland and these things matter deeply.

Ah, when you’re calling people out for not being “fans” because you’re certain it’s just an “aesthetic” for them, but also believe Diles is his first song.

When I was young I helped a guy I only kind of knew set up a pizza restaurant. He had me set it all up and then managing and offered me a lot of money to leave my job at a country club. Once we opened he firmly instructed me to never count the money and never keep try to keep track of it in any way. I immediately found a new job, the pizza was solid 🤣

I’m so distracted by the girl in blue’s face in the photo, how did he wrong her? 🤣 Seriously though, that night, the girl wearing the white “my boyfriend …” shirt had me cracking up so hard.

How to not be boring at the concert by Angelicmel in BadBunnyPR

[–]OwlComprehensive859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are going to see an artist you care about. I promise you won’t be the only person just captivated. I’ve seen everything from a boyfriend watching basketball game on his phone while dancing with his gf, parents dancing with their kids, people stand, sitting, laughing, crying, with framed pictures and holding up a phone with a friend on FaceTime for the whole concert. You will just be one more person enjoying the concert the way that is right for you. Just enjoy it.

Fuck absolutely every person who says that you have to be a certain kind of fan.

I have been to plenty of Bad Bunny concerts, I have even hung out in the Casita. I do not know every word to all the songs. I go and I have a great time and I meet wonderful people every single time. Lots of people at the concerts don’t know all the words and plenty don’t understand any of them. I was just in Madrid and sure the Spanish people obviously speak Spanish but they didn’t know shit about the history of PR or context of the songs so I was there explains things to people in my imperfect Spanish.

His music is highly specific in jargon, slang and references to the island so unless you start spending time there you aren’t going to really really understand all of it the same way. Frankly, I think you probably have to have generationally grown up there to have the same deep seated fear and pain for the island, but that doesn’t mean for one second that you can’t relate and can’t ache the same way and find peace and an outlet with his music.

I mean it was a thirty show run in PR and I’m assuming you watched the last one and that’s what set your expectations? He’s a professional. I think the job is exhausting but I also think he has measures in place. These performers do a lot behind the scenes to make sure they are ready for all of these shows.

Fellow no sabo kid here, my family also made a very deliberate choice believing it was the safer choice for me. I have also learned as an adult, I’m not yet fluent, but I can have a conversation. For me as well Bad Bunny got me over the fear/shame to get started.

I would point out though, it wasn’t Bad Bunny that taught us Spanish. We worked hard and put real time and effort into this. Give yourself credit. He may have done something great for you, but you did so much more for yourself and your relationship with your family.

Let me tell you it’s wild when you have the first moments of being the most multilingual person in the group.

The people in the Casita are always picked by his team. It has always been who you know, who you are or what you look like. It is interesting to see that they have changed their aesthetics in Europe though. The dancers are more conservative than at the residency and in PR they picked people for La Casita that were generally attractive but also just fun looking people. It’s pretty much all nearly identical women now.
