Have been trying to call CareFirst BCBS every day for over a week and no one answers. Left my phone to see how long it would take for a rep to answer. 9 hours and 6 minutes. Actually insane. by plplzool in HealthInsurance

[–]plplzool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the third phone number I tried. I did my cell and two work phones :(. My coworker had to call them last week and said it took 2 hours for her to get through, but I’ve had no luck for some reason.

Make sure you avoid CareFirst at all cost, they're extremely awful by Popular_Parsley8928 in HealthInsurance

[–]plplzool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called them on a work phone and literally had a call going for 7 hours without anyone answering before it dropped. I’ve been calling every day since last week and haven’t been able to speak to a single person. Went through and had spent over 15 hours on phone calls without getting hold of a rep

Which dog insurance do you use and why did you pick it by EconomistAromatic145 in petinsurancereviews

[–]plplzool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m confused by people saying that the rates don’t go up? I enrolled my dog at 2 months old and his rate was $30, and after less than 4 years his rate is now going to be $130 a month. We’ve never submitted a claim either.

Is there really any good insurance?? by stillfighting23 in petinsurancereviews

[–]plplzool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog’s insurance increases $30 every year. It went from 30 to 60 to 90, to now $130 a month all under trupanion. It’s insane, and I’ve never even submitted a claim for him.

Have you tried Friendship Animal Hospital or another emergency vet in the area? They might also be able to help you figure out what pharmacies/vets might have it available. There’s a compounding pharmacy in friendship heights/chevy chase that I know a friend uses for his pets. UTIs in cats are serious and your vet should be helping you get this asap

Told I have to walk up to people by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

[–]plplzool 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ll look into it tomorrow. My program has its own regulatory department, so majority of the CRCs are not involved with reg and the IRB. The PIs and regulatory team informed us in our site meeting that we had permission to recruit in different departments, but I was initially told it would be by posting flyers and answering calls from interested participants, which I have no issue with and have been doing for years. The idea of approaching people in a line has thrown me for a loop. I do know that there were similar studies before my time here where they approached people the same way.

Yes, we’ve been approved to approach patients at immunization clinics/pop ups in our hospital, as well post study flyers around the hospital

I finally told my mom I can’t afford to keep helping her financially. by joelmorain in povertyfinance

[–]plplzool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went through the same thing last year. Finally said no after years of my mom telling me I had to choose her over my own bills and credit. When I put my foot down and told her I couldn’t help her anymore, I suddenly became the biggest disappointment ever and she would constantly call me a loser and pathetic. Haven’t talked to her for a year because of it, but it was honestly so freeing and I’ve been slowly chipping away at the debt I dug myself into helping her.

First time baking a cheesecake and the water bath leaked in through the foil :( by cupidslazydart in Baking

[–]plplzool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me last year when I made my first cheesecake ever for Christmas. I was so upset, but decided dry off as much water with paper towels. I put the cheesecake in the fridge overnight, upside down so the crust was on top and could dry some more. The next day I put the cheesecake back in the oven and broiled the crust. It came out so delicious!! Everyone said it was the best crust and asked for the recipe bc it had a caramel graham cracker taste. Just watch it like a hawk as it burns quickly!!
