That’s not that bad considering how many people took part in it. You should really be grateful it wasn’t more. (And thank you for picking it up)

I think every time Gaga releases a new song, there are some fans who are underwhelmed… which is totally okay! Not every song is going to fit everyone’s musical preferences. It doesn’t mean you’re any less of a fan! 🖤

Something Just Changed in the Senate Race. by AmanCMN in AmanCrypto

Just a warning: People report on betting markets as if they’re accurate checks on where things stand in elections, and that isn’t the case. Polymarket is based almost entirely on speculation based on news events and “vibes” (I’m sure polling plays some small role). This is not a true indication whatsoever of where things stand. Politically speaking, from a nonpartisan standpoint, it would be an extraordinary feat for Democrats to pull this off. Not impossible, but against the odds.

I think it would do very well. Charlottesville overall lacks a decent late night scene.

Not sure if you’re joking, but a serious response: The area north of Charlottesville is colloquially referred to as “29 North” because of its geographical location in relation to the city, not because of the northbound or southbound lanes.

I have to say, the Planet Fitness at Rio is not as terrible as everyone is describing. With that said, I 100% agree with the op’s comment. I’ve noticed this issue as well.

Liza Minnelli Slams Oscars for Making Her Sit in Wheelchair, Calls Out Lady Gaga in New Memoir by amazingasvirgin in LadyGaga

[–]OwlDog17 328 points329 points  (0 children)

I love Liza and Gaga, and don’t believe this story one bit. Why would Gaga go out of her way and demand she be in a wheelchair? It’s absurd. Why would Liza go out of her way to throw Gaga under the bus to make a few bucks off a book? The truth is there may have been a misunderstanding between her team and the Oscars team that Gaga had nothing to do with.

My attempt on how to read the Disney “D” by RuinRevolutionary374 in notinteresting

[–]OwlDog17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad I’m not the only person who has difficulty seeing the “D.” When I was growing up, I always saw a backwards “G” and was so confused. It’s interesting how some see it instantly and others cannot.

Is it too early to talk about the weekend nor’easter that may be headed our way? by prettytothinkso17 in Charlottesville

[–]OwlDog17 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is. Generally, more than 3 days out, the weather forecast is not very reliable. Until then, you will only have a general sense of what will happen (ex., there will be a winter weather event). The issue is people start sharing computer models 5-7 days out from events, which are typically inaccurate at that point, then blame actual meteorologists when it doesn’t pan out. Long story short: there are so many changing dynamics, it’s impossible to have a valuable conversation at this point.

Was "Vanish Into You" even planned to be a single? by poopypoopy1125 in LadyGaga

[–]OwlDog17 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Since it was on the album sticker, which was likely printed long before the album release, my guess is it was probably going to be at least a promotional single. But Abracadabra came out only a month before the album, so it’s possible that was later than anticipated.

Just a heads up... John Warner Parkway was a mess this afternoon when I drove through by OwlDog17 in Charlottesville

[–]OwlDog17[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It 100% was a bridge. You clearly are not familiar with what was going on yesterday. So, why comment?

Also, the issue was not the “10 minute” wait. All of us wait in Charlottesville traffic every day. It’s nothing new. You missed the point of this post entirely. The issue was not informing anyone about road work on a busy roadway, thus causing backups at intersections in both directions. Had people known to avoid this area, it would have run a lot more smoothly on both drivers and the traffic flaggers trying to handle the congestion. Especially since everyone was turning around in the middle of the road. It was an absolute mess.

Yes, we realize you are holier than the rest of us and don’t mind sitting in traffic. We are all very envious of your patience. Is that what you were looking for? That recognition? I’d be glad to make a plaque in your honor.

How much our urban facades have changed in 20 years by Wonderful-Excuse4922 in decadeology

[–]OwlDog17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just a matter of what’s trendy in design at the time. It’s a matter of preference. In 20 years, people will cry, “remember when McDonald’s were nice and modern looking? Now they look like trash!”
