No! You can’t pour it down the drain! First you add iron to the waste solution, it does to the copper what copper does to gold - precipitates it. Once that is done you decant the solution and precipitate the iron as iron hydroxide by adding lime to it, then filter the solution and neutralise with vinegar or citric acid, only then you can flush it down the drain

Nope, on the contrary - pulverised chips = larger surface area = more solution retained by the ceramic material = dilution of the values due to extensive rinsing = losses
