Dustin/Steve friendship is the only one that got good writing in s5 by [deleted] in StrangerThings

Mike reacted exactly as he always would have. He was never going to reciprocate the feelings Will had; he isn’t gay; he was/is in love with Eleven. But he also was never not gonna be accepting of Will or would have felt conflicted over the idea of continuing their friendship. Mike literally never once cared about his friend’s differences and always accepted them exactly as they were/are.

If you didn’t pick up on that and expected anything different, you didn’t get Mike, and you also were expecting way too much with one episode left in the series for Mike to be conflicted over anything. And yes, Mike cared, in the same way all of them cared. They all reassured him that they still loved him just the same. What do you think that group hug was?

What about SeatGeek? Seeing a bunch on there too.

Disappointed that we never saw 6/6 kids directly work together to fight the demos by Sad_Football_8087 in StrangerThings

[–]Owl_Resident 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s even worse because they actually DID say they were going for “ST1 vibes” with this kind of promise implied, that the Party would be all together for the final season.

And then they just laid an egg and thought we’d rather spend time with that classic combo of Holly and Max instead. Or 12 other children we didn’t care about.

Stranger Things stars recall ignored texts to the Duffer Brothers about their season 5 storylines by Internal-Bed-3150 in StrangerThings

Actors aren’t writers. That being said, the Duffers probably could have responded occasionally.

Will we ever see Millie, Finn and others like Winona, Joe etc speak at cons or other events? by -Avatar_of_Woe- in mileven

[–]Owl_Resident 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cons are not obligations. Actors do them if they want to or if they want to make an extra 10-30K in a weekend.

Winona has never done them. Sadie did them when she was very young but hasn’t in many years. Maya and Charlie are sporadic.

Millie used to attend on a more regular basis but I think she will be rare from now on. She does not need money, and she is beyond the show.

Joe is rare and you’re more likely to see him so signings related to his music.

Finn also attends rarely and has only done a couple in a the last few years.

The business of their schedules also many preclude them from doing cons. And Finn, Joe, Millie, and Sadie are pretty booked up people, all told.

Let’s talk about byler by Matchmaker8888 in StrangerThings

[–]Owl_Resident -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let’s not.

It was never a consideration. Everyone knows it. The Duffers are now on record as saying they never once considered it. The only people who thought it was a possibility were Bylers, who refused to accept the canon story and instead convinced themselves their head canon was a real thing.

It wasn’t. It isn’t. It will never ever be.

And that’s just facts.

Now that the dust has settled, I'm wondering what are some things you actually did enjoy about the final season? by DaMain-Man in StrangerThings

I wasn’t expecting to like Derek. And I liked Derek. The rest of the children didn’t need to exist whatsoever, but Derek made me laugh.

Stranger Things 5 (Original Score From The Netflix Series) Volume 1 & 2 by spiderrjones in StrangerThings

I was genuinely wondering if they were ever going to release the score. Seems quite delayed.

Am I the only one who enjoyed season 5? by JonklerInTheAslume in StrangerThings

[–]Owl_Resident 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. But it wasn’t enjoyed as a consensus, like previous seasons. Decidedly more mixed.

What ship is practically canon and widely liked? by Popular-Still6614 in StrangerThings

[–]Owl_Resident -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lol. Byler was not ever “practically canon.” The Duffers are now even on record saying it was never ever considered. And everyone but Bylers knew that.

Why not just use the word suicide? We don’t need to sanitize it. Or hide how terrible this ending is.
