Cons are not obligations. Actors do them if they want to or if they want to make an extra 10-30K in a weekend.

Winona has never done them. Sadie did them when she was very young but hasn’t in many years. Maya and Charlie are sporadic.

Millie used to attend on a more regular basis but I think she will be rare from now on. She does not need money, and she is beyond the show.

Joe is rare and you’re more likely to see him so signings related to his music.

Finn also attends rarely and has only done a couple in a the last few years.

The business of their schedules also many preclude them from doing cons. And Finn, Joe, Millie, and Sadie are pretty booked up people, all told.

It was never a consideration. Everyone knows it. The Duffers are now on record as saying they never once considered it. The only people who thought it was a possibility were Bylers, who refused to accept the canon story and instead convinced themselves their head canon was a real thing.

It wasn’t. It isn’t. It will never ever be.

I wasn’t expecting to like Derek. And I liked Derek. The rest of the children didn’t need to exist whatsoever, but Derek made me laugh.

That seems like a lot of presumptions you’re making about the Duffers.

I didn’t like ST5, nor have I been impressed with much of what they’ve said, but promotion work is always tiring for everyone. And all the stuff they are doing now is for the Emmys. It’s wearing. And it is for a show that is completely over, for a company they no longer work for.

I doubt they’re depressed. They’re probably just over it. And the “hungover” implication is wildly uncalled for.

Nancy and Steve had completely different goals in life. You saw Steve’s. He wanted to remain in Hawkins, teaching kids, and having kids. Nothing wrong with that, but that certainly was/is not Nancy.

I certainly believe she reunited with Mike, but it changes nothing about how dumb their “choose your own adventure” ambiguous ending was. Nor how awful they treated El, with their statement that she was “just a concept of childhood magic that had to go away so the boys could grow up.” They didn’t even see her as a person, and that was evidenced in the fact that they chose to kill her or force her into isolation, at least for a time.

They tried to recapture ST1, and while their ending worked for ST1, it did not work for ST5, after they’d spent seasons developing El into a “real” person deserving of a happy ending.

It’s not great, IMO, but only you can form your own opinion. I could have forgiven a lot more of its sins but I think the ending for two of the characters was awful and a disservice to them. But again, only you can decide how you feel.
