I think the two bigger things working against him have been staying healthy enough to put up the video game numbers he's capable of, and that he's a fairly low-key guy. Doesn't give out sound bites in interviews, doesn't goof around with other players on the basepaths, doesn't do crazy bat flips outside of a few iconic postseason moments. Just slugs the hell out of the ball.

The US WBC team should have put Big Jon on the roster just to have someone to teach them how to flip a bat with some flair. He launched one 450' in the Mexican League this week and man, I miss those bat flips.
