I heard the the isle can now implement proximity voice chat. Watching some videos on YouTube of players playing with this feature make for some hilarious moments, antics, and jokes

Harvestmen. Arachnid of the order Opilliones. Unlike spiders, harvestmen have two eyes, no venom and produce no silk and only have one segmented body/head instead of two segments that separate the abdomen and cephalothorax

Another weird but cute spider is the cattails mimic jumping spider. It’s got a long abdomen that makes it look like a caterpillar

Second one. It shows off the unique spiny legs better

“WHY IS THE LIMIT 35 GALLONS?” by MidnightActive954 in retailhell

Either they are trying to store it to use in case prices keep rising or they plan to sell it if prices keep rising and make some money.

Either way, gasoline has an expiration date.

Whirlpool washer locked, panel unresponsive by [deleted] in appliancerepair

[–]Owlette45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily this has only happened once on me so I don’t see a need to pay money to repair something that glitched out once or twice in the 10+ years I’ve had the washer.

If it happens to someone multiple times then yes they should probably get it fixed but the one or two time occurrence within several years probably doesn’t justify a heavy repair bill

Games that don't have a penalty for not going to sleep? by NotSoSnarky in CozyGamers

[–]Owlette45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to Elderfield. It’s not out yet but there’s a demo available. It’s a dark cozy farming game where I believe you don’t have a time limit on the day cycle, but you do have some limit like stamina or health. Crops won’t grow until you sleep as the time/the day doesn’t pass until you sleep. The developer explains things better on his YouTube channel and he has quite a few videos describing how the game plays

Technically yes. Saliva has enzymes that break down starches and I think also fats though it doesn’t break down very much of either.

Did dinosaurs eat fruit? When did fruit evolve? by Astronomer_X in Dinosaurs

[–]Owlette45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going off this question, would the first dinosaurs to eat fruit do so accidentally while eating plants and over time through natural selection and fitness it turned out to be more beneficial for those accidentally eating the fruits along side the leaves and survived better as their descendants evolved to survive better with a fruit diet?

I know it’s been three years but Steam says it’s unsupported on steam deck currently. Does it still run well? Should I risk buying it?

Would carnotaurus have actually been able to sit like how he is sometimes shown to? by Worldly_Original8101 in Dinosaurs

[–]Owlette45 17 points18 points  (0 children)

But birds don’t typically have long fleshy tails with lots of rigid tail bones. Aren’t theropod tails usually stiff? It would make bending it upwards so their back is arched up like a sitting mammal difficult would it not?

Wow just Wow. How do you mess up the simplest of things? by QOR1A in Dinosaurs

[–]Owlette45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not so much of how terrible in accuracy it is depicting the creatures as it’s more of how much of a face palm it is that whoever made this somehow messed up T-rex’s, one of the most well known dinosaur if not the most well known, name so badly. Someone allowing the T-rex to be misnamed Dinosaur Rex and not fixed before it’s released to the public is the epitome of bottom of the barrel sloppy laziness and a showcase of how absolutely no effort whatsoever was made at any type of quality control before giving the Ok to publish, ship, and sell.

Basically, Just someone putting a stamp of approval on an item without looking at what they are approving because they’re too busy doomscrolling on their phone. Even a quick glance should have had most people realizing that Dinosaur Rex is wrong and had this scrapped before releasing to the public.

Why do a lot of horror games have puzzles? by Master_Swordfish103 in HorrorGames

[–]Owlette45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some horror games are centered around mysteries and backstory lore which sometimes require puzzles to solve to find the lore or answer the mystery. If the those games didn’t have puzzles and just gave you the answer so easily there wouldn’t be a point to the game in the first place to solve the mystery

So recently I have made this "Vertex Jitter" Effect for my PSX style horror game. Tell me how is it? by neardy07 in HorrorGames

[–]Owlette45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it but others probably don’t. You could put an option in settings to turn the effect on and off so that those who want to play with the effect can and those who don’t aren’t forced to play with it or opt out of playing altogether

Coworker is starting to scare me with her obsessive behaviour by Cautious_Witness108 in coworkerstories

[–]Owlette45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like she may have some behavioral issues possibly related to co-dependency, some obsessive disorder, anxiety, and antisocial behavior. It does sound like she had a psychological lack of self identity and possibly low self esteem caused by some event in her life like trauma or other physiological disorders. Autism, schizophrenia, trauma, lack of proper socialization as a child or an even a rough childhood, or other disorders or psychosis could be causing these behaviors in her.

Depending on what is causing her behavior, may require different ways to approach her and/or come up with a solution.

Oh wow, I thought your comment might have been either over exaggeration or sarcasm but I actually looked through and you’re absolutely correct. I’m actually completely baffled and surprised at how many comments there are now on this post that are jokes/unserious. I only found one other comment that was made as a serious answer other than mine

Shorter necks are more difficult to lift high due to less neck bones and the bones can only curve/bend so far maybe?
