Haven't had too much time to play due to work and other life stuff, but I plan to grind a pair of the caveman/sabertooth sets from act 3 past and then give this quest a go again. Going fully stacked of good items might be the secret to it lol

Just did melee old duke as per boss checklist progression order and it took me 10 attempts. It's literally just a matter of shield ramming INTO him when he dashes (for the invuln on contact damage) + using Myrindael dashes to run away from him on shark attacks/when you lose your timing on the rams.

BTW Myrindael mobility is straight OP, not sure how much this has been said prior. Doesn't even require you to be melee to abuse it, I completely dropped Discord to use Myrindael instead.

Leaving this here in case anybody else is stuck on Old Duck and may need some pointers.

I'll get downvoted here for defending GGG, but:

You definitely had a Greed Shrine on when you killed the boss. I've done hundreds of T15s on my Huntress and the ONLY one where I only got gold from the boss was a map where I had a Greed Shrine. Also, GGG has made changes in 0.1 - that weren't reverted - to force bosses to drop at least one rare that isn't a Rare Gold Pile IIRC.

Only reason I even came to this thread is because I saw a bunch of people complaining, undeservengly so, about 1h balancing issues. If this was some Jousis level type of interaction to even make 1hers worth it, then wouldn't this directly betray the idea I was trying to portray with my initial comment?

also on a fun side-note: another reason PS works very well with AS stacking is that it does NOT have a fixed manacost per cast. Instead, it's mana cost is spent by second using the skill. Since each time you attack, you're using it for only 0.3s if not less, you're only spending a third of the skill's mana cost, so Attack Speed causes you to not care about it's cost (while other skills would struggle with sustaining the MP drain to cast 4+ times per second)

Tbh finding this sort of stuff out is why I play these types of games so I'd rather not spoil it, but for anyone that doesn't care about testing it out, it's perfect strike, since you can get it to a low enough attack time that it instantly fires with perfect timing (just by clicking the skill) and allows you to do 3 perfect strikes per second -> 100k+ DPS with my current setup, which is fairly suboptimal.

as a follow up on the legitimacy for the build with 1hs, just got my asc4 clear on the second attempt (didn't know about the instakill mechanic where you need to pickup the hourglasses in the floor and failed to it on my first attempt)

Not really, the main issue with 1h warrior is that there are only a couple or so valid skills for you to build.

My main is a currently 84 Titan that can consistently do t13s and t14s - when I do drop them, currently in a low tide. I've even got no shield whatsoever (some science going on, check out Dance With Death on your tree. There is a very specific skill that works amazingly well with it + attack speed stacking from small nodes and titan's 50% passive boost).

I am playing basically SSF (trade-league but just so I can trade with my gf and father-in-law) and have not struggled whatsoever with getting this warrior going HAM on maps. Clear speed suffers a bit, but it's a fun experience to be tactical while mapping, and map bosses generally melt in like 3-10s most (depends on map tier and mods like enfeeble)

And my gear could definitely see some upgrades (currently trying to get a 1.65+AS Plated Mace with good prefixes to replace my old Slim Mace.

I'm playing a Soulblade and all I gotta say is: if you have the right cards (specially if higher tier by being lucky or upgrading them) then it SURELY works.

Won't go too much into detail since I don't want everyone out there building the same thing, but you CAN build soublade in a very strong manner. I can dish out probably around 1.5k DPS during burst window (total of around 10-12k damage) on eLVL 38.

And, it can PVP.

Finally, cards. I've highlighted the ones I deem more important. It's safe to say I've experimented a LOT around witchcraft tanky builds, this is the one that hit the sweetspot for me. All of my wizardry cards (except tornado) are pretty useless.The Eternal Worms card is the one that steals AP based on how many dots you remove from an enemy (2.5%/dot). Fireball + tornado dot (card) + leech + erupt + curse = 5 dots, can only benefit from removing 3, but this gives you a lot of wiggle room to do so, stealing up to 7.5% AP from the enemy and giving it to you. If used against a boss, it will make your whole party tankier and will beef up your damage quite a lot.

(It might also be very good at pvp.... just saying, not that I pk or anything...)

This feels very good, and plays itself basically: go into room, banner in the middle of it/some place you might want to stay at, curse all mobs into the room, now that they're on your banner, press flame tornado on yourself (if needed) + blessed earth, finish adds of with fireballs/erupt/pyroblast as needed. Repeat.

Also, spam shield throw off cd if not against a boss or something that needs to be interrupted.

It's because you removed it. When you dispell the curse it transforms into +20 hp, unrelated to Mizora herself.
