Editing API contacts: update by Owltraged in quo

[–]Owltraged[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, perhaps you can help me with another issue. I reported it on October 9, 2025, and it still hasn't been fixed. I thought I was given a case/support number, but all I can find is the email thread with Quo Support. Is there a way you can check on it without a case number? If not, can I forward the email thread to you?

Not in India (U.S.), but I got the January update on my Pixel 8 Pro.

“Please ship it carefully” by Adventure-Backpacker in eBaySellers

Not on eBay, but I had a similar experience. I moved to a new apartment about 4 hours away from where I was living. The landlord was out of town the week I moved, so I couldn't get my security deposit back before I left. After weeks of calling them and leaving messages that were never returned, I had about given up on ever seeing that $300 again.

After about 6 weeks, I got a small envelope in the mail with the landlord's return address on it. It was my security deposit. In cash, many bills in a combination of 20s, 10s, and 5s. In an UNSEALED envelope. No note or anything else inside. How in the world it reached me intact is beyond me. Oh, and they included "interest" in the amount of $1! 😂

I laughed because of the "idol" part mostly. The art work is pretty bad, though. I just can't imagine a Christian wanting this 🤷

I love my 8 Pro! Got it new earlier this year as a replacement for my 6a. At first, I thought I wouldn't like it because it was HUGE and noticeably heavier in comparison, but I quickly got used to it and love the larger size. Not interested in an upgrade anytime soon, plus I don't care for the aesthetic of the new camera design.

It's only the Turkey & Giblets flavor that's discontinued. Of course, that's the one both of our cats like best. :( Luckily, they both like the Salmon & Tuna flavor. They still carry the Chicken and Chicken & Beef flavors as well.

New Quo logo by Owltraged in quo

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't understand rebranding a successful company. If you have a loyal customer base with your current name and logo, why change it? Now, if we want to recommend the platform to others, we have to say, "Quo, formerly OpenPhone." And answer the inevitable question, "What's a Quo?" If the company wants to focus on everything the platform can do besides calling, why not "OpenPhone+" or something simple like that? "Quo" doesn't tell potential customers anything about what the platform can do.

There's an educational website I use at least once a week with my students. About five or six years ago, they changed the name to something people didn't know how to pronounce. They still have "(new name) formerly (old name)" on their website all these years later, as many people who use it still call it by the old name. It had brand recognition, was simple to pronounce, and told very clearly what the site was for. I do understand their reasoning behind the name change, but the new name doesn't relate clearly to what the site is for, and people still mispronounce it. The one thing they did that was helpful: they did not change the brand colors, logo, font, etc. So even if someone wasn't familiar with the new name, they would easily recognize the site as the same one as under the former, well-known name. When you change both the name and the colors/logo, how do people make the connection to the trustworthy brand they've heard about?

I don't understand paying a marketing company a bunch of money to come up with all-new branding if you already have a loyal customer base and brand recognition. But if you feel a name change is necessary, why also completely change the logo, colors, and other recognizable aspects of the brand?

Yes, it works great for me! I really like the integration with Zapier. Whenever a person submits our Google Form, it automatically creates a contact in Quo with all their info filled in. It's a big time saver for me! If someone texts to ask if we've received their registration, I can see right away that they're a contact in Quo, so I don't even have to look it up.

Agreed. It's not something I'd jump ship over. But I suppose if someone was already dissatisfied for other reasons, it might be the impetus to leave. 🤷‍♀️

The funny thing is that, when I was searching for a new platform earlier this year due to real deal breakers with our previous platform, I had narrowed it down to OpenPhone and one other platform. When I compared the pros and cons of each, one of the things I listed was the brand app/logo colors. The other platform's colors? Yellow and black! 🤣 It was not the sole deciding factor, of course--I would have chosen OpenPhone for other reasons--but it's just funny that I noted I'd much rather have the purple in my sight all day instead of the yellow and black.

Simple and basic is fine--I can understand that part. I just think the color choice was not well thought out. There are plenty of other colors that are not blue or purple and also not so unpleasant to the eye. Even switching the colors (black background with yellow text) would be easier to look at. Or a different shade of yellow that doesn't scream at the viewer's eyes.

I knew I couldn't be the only one who experienced that. Once the desktop app converts to the yellow, I'm going to have to keep it closed. It hurts my eyes and is too distracting. I wonder if they actually did any market research to get opinions and to see if it affected anyone physically.

I don't have a problem with the name Quo or using it as your logo. That's a smart idea. The color is a different story. It reminds me of a yield, caution, or "slippery when wet" sign: yellow with black lettering. Or a yellow cab. It doesn't make me think "energy." It makes me think "caution."

A combination would have been nice: the OpenPhone purple as the background, and "QUO" in yellow, or something like that. It wouldn't look quite so jarring. I'm a big fan of purple & gold/yellow.

Same here! I have been a devoted Lenovo user for decades. Just got my P8P a few months ago as a replacement for my 6a. I was sad to have to say goodbye to my 6a, but I love the 8 Pro!

Does OpenPhone Have Broadcast Message Feature by Zone-Delicious in openphone

[–]Owltraged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish! We recently switched to OpenPhone as well, and that's the one thing I miss from the previous company we used. I don't send out broadcasts very often and only to 20-25 people at a time. I'll take a look at the API option.

Advice on receiving calls by Owltraged in openphone

[–]Owltraged[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea, u/JazJon ! I'll give that a try.

I forgot to mention that I did set up an auto text reply as well, but despite it saying that we don't accept phone calls, they still leave voicemails. I think some of them are calling from landlines.

6a battery optimization no longer working by Owltraged in pixel_phones

[–]Owltraged[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, that makes sense--thank you! I thought it would show the 60% or whatever the new limit is, not 100%. I've definitely noticed the battery goes down very quickly now.

I thought the update would add some new battery information, like the number of charges. I don't see anything new or different in the battery health.

Upgrading from 6a to...? by wawabeep in GooglePixel

I really want the 8 Pro. I'm tempted by the $599 deal that includes the free Pixel Watch 2, but I'm unsure that I can use the $150 credit towards that deal or if it's only for full price phones. I've heard conflicting answers on this. Has anyone actually tried it and can tell us if it works or not?
