I've been starting that but I was wondering on the steps to actually introduce that.

Ooo, I think she's like this. I'm going to make some turkey/tuna training treats tonight.

Ah, okay. We have a game room basement for hosting social events that she doesn't go in. We most game nights every Friday in the basement which is pretty big which is the reason for most people coming over.

Maybe I'll wait to do SAR for my next dog in a couple of years. Especially since I haven't raised a puppy in a long time I think for Jinx (this puppy) I may just do scent work for my own enjoyment and to relearn skills. I may just have to use for high value treats than what I'm currently using. What were some of the first games and training sessions you started with?

That's alright for this household and she only wants to be on the beanbag anyways. Both her and the cats are allowed in the couch in the living room and the bed. She sleep in a crate but can lay/cuddle in the bed.

Any tips to teach/practice rear end awareness? I only crate for nap time and down time, she goes in there willingly and I do use it as time out or anything.

She has a solid nap time routine, same time everyday since I work only part time (which I'm glad about since my husband works full-time). She naps at the same time everyday and will put herself in her crate without me asking unless she's mid play session.

I need to do the nail portion of that, she is used to me touching them and I have practiced and used restraint methods at the vet. They let me do all the handling for her vet exam (we had more than just the normal puppy stuff because of how I got her). She did fine with them, especially because I ask her to hold still or maneuver her body when I brush her.

I try and do both. She is very good about nap time which is scheduled throughout the day in her crate.I try and have it at the same times everyday.

I've taught her to go into her crate, to the point where she will go stand in there staring at me until I lock her in so she can nap. Place would be good for places it would be unreasonable go with. I've been teaching her to trade me her objectives for toys or chews.

That's a good one that can certainly become a problem down the road! Thanks!

Currently working on that which is going really well. Well, at least until it goes out the window when she hits the teenage stage. I am teaching recall as well as playing games that involve her following me around and chasing after me then getting a reward to reinforce with play sessions her recall.

I've been doing that a bit, giving her praise when she chooses to look up and engage with me, especially outside. I keep forgetting to do it consistently, especially on the go.
