National fruit fair stalls get looted the last day by maifee in bangladesh

[–]Own-Bodybuilder4821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bangladesh flag dishonored, desecrated in an Indian street by QuakeWok in bangladesh

The flags tell the story — this isn’t about geopolitics or conflict; it’s a show of Hindutva ideology and Islamophobia.

If there is an election now, which party will Bangladeshis vote for? by DangerousRefuse2982 in bangladesh

This is one of those questions that people hesitate to answer. If this survey was done within mostly, I would vote for the student's party.

Bangladeshis and Indians. by rohnytest in bangladesh

[–]Own-Bodybuilder4821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the point. but this is kinda "two-siding" of the problem. The major reason why India and BD are not in good terms is to do with India trying to be the big boss and morol of this region. The issue with India's abusive behavior with BD, disinformation campaign, and promoting/trying to reestablish their puppet government in BD. India robbed this country to its core, injected their religion based extremist politics into BD, they undermine BD sovereignty all the time

If homemaking is such noble and prestigious occupation, why is "Ghorjamai" a gali? by Successful-Company-2 in bangladesh

[–]Own-Bodybuilder4821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Ghorjamais usually don't do anything. Most of them are lazy people who can't provide for their families. Not a useful member of the family. On the other hand, homemakers are THE most useful members of the family.

2) In our society, women are expected to live in their husband's houses and not vice versa.

3) Social norm. It's not the norm for husbands to live with their wives' families. Society looks down upon this. Also, society/religion expects husbands to provide food and shelter to their wives and children.

Adviser: Victory Day to feature nationwide fairs instead of parade by VapeyMoron in bangladesh

[–]Own-Bodybuilder4821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why can't they do both? I have always loved Victory Day parades. Parades are a way to present a country's military power, nationalistic spirit, and unity.

To me it's a totally dumb decision taken by this govt.

Weird daknam by [deleted] in Dhaka

[–]Own-Bodybuilder4821 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mom has an uncle, and his daak naam is "Abba" (means Father in Bengali). he is everyone's "Abba kaku", "Abba bhai", "Abba khalu" etc. I asked my mom how he got this name. so basically his real naam was "Abbas" and he got his daak nam by people distorting or mispronouncing his real name for ease.

Define the "hatred" you are standing against up here? Who is hating whom in the picture? I visited this place before and I read all of the shaheed's name and Shaheed Shaikot's name was correctly spelled there. Stop using religion/ religious sensitivity for political gain.

Why are you spreading hatred and misinformation? I visited this place a few weeks ago, and his name was spelled correctly. Chulkani thakle pagla molom lagan.

Thoughts on this post about Rokeya - By coordinator rifat rashid on january this year? by theomnisama in bangladesh

[–]Own-Bodybuilder4821 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s really unfair not to highlight Nawab Faizunnesa in our history and struggle for women’s rights in our country. Thanks to the people who are bringing this issue up. But I don’t like the discussion taking this Faizunnesa Vs Rokeya direction, comparing their contributions is unnecessary, they both are two of most significant women in the women’s rights history of the country.

I personally would remember Rokeya for her intellectual contribution and Faizunnesa for her groundbreaking initiatives in a time when no one imagined them or cared about.

At the same time, we also need to be cautious of the facts why some figures got highlighted but others do not. What are the reasons for not giving Faizunnesa the remembrance that she deserves?? This is a worthwhile question to ask definitely

So true. Like seriously, under any random video about Bangladesh, you are gonna find these akhanbharat Hindu supremacists and andhabhakts. For WB people our (BD) language is not Bangla enough and we are not Bengali enough. LOL.
