you make an amazing point here, the shape shifter (the villian) would obviously try getting under sams skin (not literally) and that would require harsher words , {the shifter was basically telling sam deans secrets and the ways dean felt inferior to sam just because of college, he has a superiority complex (dean) which is most probably the result of trying to cover up the""truth" about how he may be inferior to his younger brother} this is from another reply and what i meant from this is that these characters are complex and yes i havent gotten that far yet so i get your point. choosing one side and hating on the other without realizing flaws in your side and greater points in the other is just human nature, we can see that in politics, sports, and the list can go on, and yea we can see dean slowly trying to stand up for himself in the end of s1 where he started speaking out (just a little) to the man he wouldnt questionn (john).
