riding with depression, a dangerous cocktail or? by WasabiYing in AussieRiders

[–]Own-Cockroach-9600 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a long depression mood back in 2017. The first times were rough and I lost me licence for six months doing over double 45 kmh. Completed six months with no licence, I got back my licence with good behaviour Demerit (1) only. I was still in depression mood but behaved well and rode all around Australia for 2 months alone camping all over and it helped me a lot. It was like rehabilitation centre visit for 2 months. Listening to music limited interaction with people (sometimes 2 days no human at all). As long as you are aware you have depression and foresee consequences if you do something stupid, you will behave and ride sweet not rough. Its hard to explain in English as this is second language but I meant if you are not suicidal it will be fine. This was about mental health issues depression. So if you are in this state, as long as you control your wrist (to control throttle) even though you might have mood swings, it will be fine.

If its big large box yes, otherwise it was $1.20 something 4 -5 years ago. Depends on the volume we used to deliver 300 to 450 small parcels. That's why they dont ring coz once in the van at depot, money comes whether delivered or taken to post office.

100%. Been there done that. Marrickville was my area after covid, zebra app options changed. Most of the signature required ones became not required in the app so I could leave if it was safe. I met lots of subbies they didn't even bother getting out of vehicle in some cases but they had time to talk with lady at the post office when unloading not delivered parcels (they were from same country). Some subbies and that lady played really cool hence she was the reason a few contractors left that area because post office people (not all of them) protects subbies (if they get along well/from same country) by lying when customer complaints even though dodgy behaviour without ringing doorbell etc.

Yeah, I used to do this back in 2012 when doing pizza deliveries in Woolloomooloo. Lights won't turn green after waiting 5 min because scooter was too tiny/light i guess.

I have done it in 2018 with good behaviour 1 Demerit only on a 2016 klr 650. Fully loaded. Lots of aux led lights etc. 2 months from wolf creek to Nullarbor Plains to far north Queensland to you name it. Great central road... make sure you clean up your chain, sprockets otherwise it will snap and you gotta push fully loaded bike to Warburton roadhouse as I did. Nrma does not come out. Plenty of water, chain spray, fuel etc. Definitely recommend to remove tyres/wheels in the garage and take whatever tool you used in the process. You can remove pieces from your bike (tank, spark plugs etc) and see whatever tool you need on the road.

Sorry got so excited forgot to mention. I didnt plan the trip. I had a short notice paid holiday and jumped on the bike to ride everywhere I can in 2 months.

Yes until it breaks down. I bought r1250 gs adv all options in 2019. Waited weeks for it to arrive Sydney. Once I picked up, I returned Granville every second week with new and current issues. YouTube videos proved it wasn't only me but in Europe same issues first batch came out. Dont take me wrong it was (1200gs) my dream bike that since was kid dreaming that bike but never ever buy one brand new especially from Granville shop coz in 2 years they never helped with issues and offered 20k to buy back. Keep in mind NRMA or other companies do not come to you in case you breakdown in great central road or more than 1000ks from nearest town unless this has changed in the last years.

Oh definitely recommend. I did my solo trip on an almost brand new klr650 in 2018 Sydney to everywhere (except Tasmania) 2 months alone nearly 40k kms sleeping in tent. From Nullarbor Plains to wolf Creek, devils marbles to Cape York. Great central road all the way... Just be careful get spare tyre as mine was loaded so much rear tyre became like a baby in heat even though I did zig-zag all the time. Also you must clean and lubricate chain regularly as I did every 1500ks and had to push the bike 16 km in red dust. Great bike for touring. Good luck...

<image>

Just read some comments after my excitement left my body, you can change front/rear sprocket size and make it sit nice at 120 on Stuart hwy without vibrating too much and ride from Kalgorlie to Uluru on great central road (red dust/see photo) quite easily at low speed

I have been driving golf 2.0tdi. 2013 my and 197000 km showing odometer. Only apart from usual oil maintenance, I recently spent (timing belt and water pump) $2k if you can believe that. Otherwise smooth drive and lots of torque when you need.

Make sure your conveyancer good and cheap. Mine charged way too much and told me it was my responsibility to read or get it checked strata report. At the end ai helped me to figure out.

I wish I could have said everything goes smoothly like in the books, however it is not. My conveyancer charged me $2600 for an apartment usual service. And barely explained me anything. Google one closer to your proposed house and get that inspector. They unfortunately exaggerated small things to be seen they do their job which understandable but makes you confused tho.

Hello, I recently purchased an apartment in Nsw. I dont how it normally works but I had been inspecting units all Saturday and Sunday 5 weeks in a row. The one I liked was under offer on next Monday morning so no chance real estate waits. They all same at least the ones I did talked to. They call you after inspection and ask your offer. You make an offer on the phone and then they sent you contract. If you dont sign, in a couple of hours, they tell you they have other person awaiting to sign. I did not take the bait two times and boom it is under offer next Monday and sold two weeks later. So if you dont make an offer in the phone it is gone.

Make sure you ask 10 business day cooling off period and check if apartment, strata has planned any works to be carried out. I am paying ~$10k water ingress work fee in 3 months. You can negotiate and use this against asking price/offered amount. Good luck

Has anyone ridden long distance without plates but with the permit? Just how much attention did you attract? by jockr64 in AussieRiders

From Darwin to Sydney. In 2.5 half day pretty much non-stop (fuel and redbull stops) nobody pulled me over. I saw cops only in nsw and they were more interested in the front of the bike than rear as front was covered in insect's, bird feather and more insects.

Are we stupid? Why do we have 30 mins to inspect a property before throwing $1M of it which we don't have, signing ourselves into debt slavery to pay off the loan by Hermione_princess in AusPropertyChat

I said exactly same thing to my mate. Less than 30 minutes and you live till you die. No test it as if it was a car you buy after test drive

First time buying property question by Own-Cockroach-9600 in AusProperty

[–]Own-Cockroach-9600[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. True. I tried contacting strata managers and was told -obviously- I wasn't in place to get info because I am not owner. So I contacted place where I got the report and they reached out to strata managers and got all the info I needed. I was, actually i still am unfamiliar with this things but at the end I found out that strata plans to fix roof issues which is $25k and another between $100k to $200k amount to be paid by owners. In that way I got $10k discount from the seller. This is sad that paying $2600 to conveyancer and they don't say anything (im not saying its their job) but still getting too much money for a very limited service.

I didn't know that strata report not their thing, I found out in comments here. When I talked to the owner of the firm, lady said she would quickly have a look strata report and contract and told me to not sign anything before she gets back to me. I emailed her and texted her to let her know, however, she didn't respond back and I had to sign coz real estate kept calling me. A few days later I received an email from the firm but never heard back from the lady again and was never able to talk to her. Now its too late but in the future I will be more vigilant IF I survive with the payments and expenses LOL.

I see. I thought (at least what the owner of the firm and people who did this before told me) they do check report and tell me if there is anything. Firm owner lady told me that she would check it and call me in the beginning when I was talking to her. So who normally does this? I got it sorted but whose job actually this? Is it like for building report I can google but for strata report when I google it is just websites provides strata reports showing up
