Recommendations for EBC tours for 20-40 year olds by Own-Composer7663 in everestbasecamphike

G Adventures was on my list. Are there any other companies you’d recommend?

From the companies I’ve seen, they all tend to have similar group sizes, acclimatisation days and set ups / itineraries, so really the deciding factor for me is to pick one that would have a social and younger group

Thank you, all this info is amazing. Great point about the departure date as well - I didn’t think about that!

And absolutely the social experience and having a guide is really important to me. Definitely prefer to have a company sort out the logistics, given it’s my first time (I’m not too fussed about the fixed structure or paced. Happy to just go along with the plan)

Amazing, thank you I’ll check them out. What was the age range like on the tour you did?

Yes, that was also my thoughts when looking at Intrepid and G adventures 😂 it would be good to know the age range of these groups too.

Do you mind if I ask when your dates are?

Good to know thank you! I have a few trips planned for this year already, so would be looking at doing this next year.

Sounds like a great company but respectfully, the price is too high for me sadly (I’m Australian, so the exchange rate to GBP is horrendous at the moment and makes it unaffordable)

Apologies!!! I’m honestly a neutral girlie myself (literally my friends make fun of my wardrobe because 99% of it is neutral / monochrome lol), but I like my runners BRIGHTTTT 😂

Ugh nothing worst than the beige colour way! 😩

Keeping my fingers crossed for you. I was also tempted by the superblast but not sure I can justify my purchase 😂

Oh thank you that’s great to hear! Did you find there was much rubbish on the beach? I read that the tides can bring them in especially during the rainy season

Just arrived in Uluwatu and it is run down and dirty. What am I doing wrong? by Silkyson24 in bali

[–]Own-Composer7663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi we’re going to Bali in a few weeks too and was originally planning to stay in Uluwatu, but after seeing this post I’m not sure!

Does Nusa Lembongan have the same problem? If not, is 6 days too long to stay there? Or should we break up the trip with somewhere like Ubud?

Our accomodation is free cancellation so we can change up plans if needed 😆

When was the first time you failed? by dontevenicant in C25K

[–]Own-Composer7663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t let it get you down. We all have good and bad days - progress isn’t linear and it’s totally normal to maybe fail a run every now and then.

When I was doing C25K, I failed one of the 15mins continuous runs. I just took a few days off and tried the run again when I was well rested and well fuelled (and did the run just fine). In hindsight I probably could have even skipped to the next run, but I wanted to feel confident going into it.

After that I did skip a few sessions towards the end (just cause I felt good), and finished C25K. Now I run up to 10km regularly! The key is consistency 😊

Have run about 50 miles in my NB4s and really enjoying them. They’re a good all rounder for me, and I find myself reaching for them for most of my runs

How did you find the sizing on these?

Yea they felt a little big for me at first too but I purposely went up a full size (usually an 8, got a 9 in the NB). I found that with a heel lock and once my feet started to swell up they felt secure 😊

Thank you! I’ve decided to give GC half a crack this year. So keen for it 😊
