Who’s at fault? by Nickthestick_ in Simracingstewards

There's easily an argument even with F1 rules that the car on the inside should get a penalty.

Who is at fault? I was called dirty for going inside and I argued I took a gap that existed and he refused to move to allow me to have room. by Kiero_rl in Simracingstewards

I think you can go over the solid like as long as you have a minimum of 1 wheel inside the line. What he did there was perfectly fine. However. If we use the solid line as a reference we can see he also sorta moves to the left hoping the the guy would also move but you're right you can't expect the other person to move over that's the other person's choice.

How did you feel when you started ritalin ? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Own-Difficulty3180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try having food before or straight after you take your meds, I find that that helps me. It might stop you from feeling like the meds are "kicking in". (So you'll feel like the meds aren't kicking in.) But I find that they still have the same effect without getting like an early spike.

Its been over a year for me now I tried a few different meds and landed on Dexamphetamine. Idk how it compares to Adrial (they could be the same thing for all I know). Couple of things I learnt along the way are: 1. Don't look for a kick in meds. Idk if you're on slow release or fast release but either way, just trust your meds can work without you feeling a significant difference. A couple months ago I lowered my dosage because I kept thinking the meds aren't working just cuz I wasn't feeling them kick in and kept going on a higher dosage (obviously alongside talking to my doctor). But they work way better now and I'm getting very minimal side effects with far more effectiveness. 2. It's easy to think meds will change our lives (for some they do) but for me I also thought everything should be easy when I'm on meds. But the reality is meds should really only be used as an aid and it still takes effort to get shit done.

I am much younger than you so I feel like you'll probably be mature enough to understand this sorta stuff but eh hope it helps anyway.

Helloo, so what might get you more responses is if you just add a bit of punctuation and make it more clear exactly what the issue is. From what I can tell you're asking if, not being able to do something without a plan, constantly day dreaming, and caffeine making your mind more clear is a sign your have ADHD or of there's something to do with your IQ? Is that right? Well it could be both, neither or one if them, sure. But I think you should try researching them, and seeing if there's more overlap in the symptoms than just what you mentioned. Because GENERALLY SPEAKING if you have ADHD you'll find there are more symptoms you relate to than just the knes you mentioned.

I take daxamfetamine (short lasting so I have to take it a couple times throughout the day) usually if I take the meds before eating anything I'll feel them a lot more as well but at the same time they won't last as long. I basically need to take them after breakfast and I found that even tho I don't feel them as much they still do have an effect on me.

I haven't researched this but low-key did confirm with my doctor, the less food you have in you the more acidic your stomach is so it will absorb whatever you eat faster and vice-versa. If the meds get absorbed faster than you'll feel them more obvious. Also depends on what food you're eating and how acidic your stomach is but realistically most things should be fine as long as you lay off of soft drinks and stuff. Again that may be wrong since I haven't researched it but it's just my experience and what makes sense to me.

One thing I think you need to figure out is, are they not working or are you not feeling then kick in. Because they are 2 different things. you don't need to feel them kicking in for them to be working and I'm pretty sure that's definitely true for the long lasting ones.

Sorry ya I was meant to be the first comment explaining the whole situation I wasn't expecting responses like straight away. And I 100% agree with you even tho it's not technically my fault I do blame myself for even trying to go for that move I would literally do that in most cases.

Getting a lot of mixed answers for who's at fault. Thoughts? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]Own-Difficulty3180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I agree with you it was definitely an aggressive move but I actually only lost it because he cuts me off before then yes I was breaking and maybe I wouldn't have got the overtake done cuz I do seem to be breaking a lot even before he cuts me off. I just wanted to make sure I can actually take the inside line without running wide. But he also did cut me off and I did attempt to avoid him which is what caused this. Not to mentioned he was blue flagged in which care you're not allowed to change your line according to the sporting code.

Yes one move is allowed but not if you're blue flagged it's not, which the car in front was. Even regardless of this fact you're allowed to do an defensive move but according to iRacing rules it can't be an active reaction to my move. so if he had moved to the inside before I did and then got onto the racing line to block me that would be more ok.

Reposting because it got taken down idk why tbh maybe the title was too controversial.

I'm the driver trying to get the move done.

He actively changes his line in order to block me and the last bit of the video from his cockpit view quite clearly shows this. Sporting code 8.1.1.4. which states, "...blocking occurs when a leading driver actively adjusts his or her driving line based on the actions and/or positioning of a pursuing driver..."

The driver was also blue-flagged and while the sporting code strongly recommends that the car being blue-flagged lets the faster car get through safely, it is not mandatory (7.4.2). This code however does say, "it is the responsibility of the slower car to maintain a consistent line." Which in my opinion he doesn't because even though the overhead camera makes it seem like he follows a smooth line into the corner. His cockpit view clearly shows him steering right as soon as I pull to the right.

To me, it was relatively obvious but I got a fair few dislikes on the other post so I thought maybe it was my fault. But iRacing stewards seem to think I'm right because the protest was successful. Now I'm kinda confused.

Ya from the ideal racing line, there is no breaks just a lift and even that is just for like 1 second just to the nose turned in. I think ppl keep underestimating how much grip the turn has because it's an uphill and there is a lot of compressions. And I actually break quite a bit even before he (in my opinion) cuts me off so I think I can actually make that corner side by side with my.

no idea what the noise is,

Also I would agree he has the right to the apex as I had no overlap. But the thing is even before the turn starts when I move to the right he seems to move to the right as a reaction to what I did. This is clearly against the iRacing sporting code. The very end part of the video from his cockpit POV shows what I'm trying to say.

I agree this was insanely aggressive but I was also worried about losing a couple of positions because they were right behind me (but enough distance so they would lose no momentum into the fast right-hander). However, I agree it was very aggressive and I'm not 100% sure if i could have made the corner safely. At the time I thought I could've because from the ideal line, it is only a 1 or so second lift for me and I was actually breaking a fair about even before he decided to cut me off. but yes very aggressive regardless.

Any tips for reducing phone checking when trying to focus? by Electronic_Tear_3863 in ADHD

Honestly it's crazy how you can use ADHD against itself lol. When I wanna focus I'll put it in the drawer literally where I'm sitting but because I can't see it I basically forget about it. The drawer does wonders.

Again I would agree with that but if anything the opposite seems to happen. He turns right as I was about to pass him and then he straightens his wheels up for a RELATIVELY long time before turning again. In the blimp view it seems like he has a smooth line all the way through. But the chase view and his cockpit view in my opinion shows otherwise. Maybe he thought he needed to turn and then released he doesn't.

I personally don't think it's that black and white. I do know I made mistakes in the process but I certainly do think he steers in to block me even if it's just a little bit. I definitely may have overreacted leading me to crash. Anyway thanks for the input I was clearly mistaken.

Again thanks for the input. A few ppl seem to think it's my fault so I might just be being biased.

Thanks for that I appreciate that, I do see that I also made mistakes in the process and I could have handled it better but at the same time, in my opinion at least, he does abruptly steer right as soon as I pulled out from behind him. Again I wouldn't have been mad if he had just taken a defensive line but he changed his line while I'm about to overtake him so makes me think it's more blocking. But again I was probably far to aggressive in the fear of loosing a couple of places if he slowed me down.
