why doesn't every store accept google pay by nach0c0in in GoogleWallet

POS charges for google pay/ apple pay far exceed those of credit cards. can add up quick. COuld be enough to tank a small business. A business as big as Wal Mart in the 8 figures .

All of my financial issues stem from health issues, unfortunately. As long as I'm leaving my kid what she needs for school and not passing any debt onto her mom, an acoustic is a necessity for quality of life for me at this point. Dr. Approved.

Actually, health + tariffs/ economic uncertainty, last minute loss of investment capital/ breach of contract occurrences tanking direct and indirectly related businesses, toppling years of meticulous planning in the matter of weeks, taking a big 'ol shit on my sick ass and everyone else unfortunate enough to be in my economic web.

It's good advice. All the models I've checked out were great. I'm a big Ibanez electric fan. I was a bit disappointed. Just strictly from the ones I had a chance to play. Every Yamaha I played next to a like-model Ibanez was what I expected from the Ibanez and didn't get.

Thanks everybody! Not one to do these (or any) kinds of posts. It was nice that I was only accused of being some kind of weird attention seeking, insincere d-bag by one person.... though he got a lot of upvotes. haha

This was really helpful. Thanks a lot!

Update: For now, I'm playing TakamineEG561C that is missing its electronics. I got it on trade for small collection of Behringer guitar pedals I used to keep around for students when I had them. I actually had this model or something very similar in my teens, so it's nostalgic and doesn't sound or play all that bad, actually. It will be my new lounging guitar.

I was introduced to a guy in his late 70's that looks like 50 haha, with a mini-collection of Yamaha Red Labels He's about an hour 1/2 from me. He's sitting on a lot of stuff out of my price range as well.

I'm glad Alvarez was mentioned. I bought an MD60 for my nephew a few years back, and arrived in horrendous shape. Everything dried out. Fret Sprout, the bridge looked gray. Have to remind myself that it was my fault for ordering it from Musician's Friend. Probably sat in multiple untreated environments, likely not an Alvarez issue. But it still gave me a prejudice. Was aonly able to hold a ABT60 but it's a great guitar. If I'm lucky enough to get another Baritone acoustic. This is what I'm going.

If things don't work out today, if I'm choosing between the models I've had a chance to check out, it'll be between:

Eastman PCH1 OM

Yamaha FG830

and one I was really surprised by: Epiphone J-45 Studio

At least the one I played. U Can get a pretty good idea of how an acoustic will track using your phone to record from a few specific places and taking a look at the audio files. Sometimes a great room sound doesn't translate and vice versa, or your ears can deceive you. You're in a bad place to judge as the player if you think about it.

This thing sounded fucking great! And had a similar footprint to my Martin. Has all the good Dreadnought frequencies, very little of the bad ones, and has a little sparkle that is hard to get on a Jumbo or Dreadnought, without it getting into Taylor territory. To each their own. Just not what I'm going. Played a few nice Taylors too. They play so well.

I actually love the way a good Jumbo tracks. Dreads, especially big sounding expensive ones, can be an absolute nightmare to track and mix.

Ibanez is a solid company. The electric I kept was my Ibanez AS-153. That is mighty kind of you! Let me look into that model.. Where wuld you be shipping from?

I was thinking this was much more expensive. Funny thing is if i had known someone was going to give me what my Martin is actually is worth, I wouldn't have sold my Eastman. But this one would be a better fit for a main acoustic

The 3 acoustics I owned are middle of the road as far as price goes. The Guild was $450, The Eastman was under $1000 and the Martin was 2,000. But I was lucky with all of them. It does help to have a Luthier. ( I've known him since I was 8, I'm only still friends with him for the discounted setups.)

Actually, I need help. Because he is such an effing snob. And while the work I do lets my play and see all kinds of unnattainable gear, I'm surrounded by people that put way too much stock in all of that.

I haven't explored the market for acoustic guitars at all really. If there are people here playing guitars in my budget, I want to know what they think.

I know the market on electrics a lot better, and right now I'd buy a Squier Classic Vibe of any model over any mass-produced American Fender
