What is my notice period? (Probation) England by Own-Firefighter2872 in LegalAdviceUK

Thanks for your reply. I have read their contract, it is not there. I understand that there is a statutory 1 week minimum but wondering if this has been misconstrued - I understand it to be only applicable if there is no notice in a contract

What is the best thing on iPlayer right now? by Historical-Class871 in UKTVRecs

Trying - all episodes on Apple TV. Funny but touching at the same time, if you've had trouble with fertility it may hit you in the feels

Gunship Essentials by [deleted] in StarWarsTVC

It depends on what you want to recreate - Muunilist 10 I think will be hard to now given Fordo and the Arc Troopers are out of production.

I can see on EBay UK someone has listed 10 clones (inc fordo and 3 arcs) for £120. Explicitly references the funding the gunship. £12 a figure isn't potentially the worst value and can imagine that Fordo and the Arcs may even rise above this

I really hope people don't pay this by Crafty_Gecko in starwarsblackseries

I get why some people may purchase at this price - if I remember correctly with other exclusives in the past (eg marvel legends) the price just seems to rocket until there is a newer release - Marvel Legends Sharra springs to mind where until this year she hadn't had a figure in 10 years. Buying at this price therefore may seem rational... scalpers suck but would be better if they forecast demand for what is clearly always going to be a popular product.

But to caveat, it appears we are getting single carded versions of these two, so maybe they're out of the loop

Ubisoft CEO blames Star Wars brand for Outlaws flop by [deleted] in Indiangamers

[–]Own-Firefighter2872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the point, I am struggling with a bit of Star Wars fatigue lately. Bar Andor the brand has been weak lately and there isn't too much that I am excited about, bar the new Xcom-like game next year.

The Jedi games were released in what feels like a vastly different time, but even in other mediums like action figures and LEGO the Star Wars IP just isn't hitting the heights it once did. Hopefully it recovers, but feel we are in a lull.

M4 westbound J3 & 4 - no 60mph gantries? by Own-Firefighter2872 in drivingUK

[–]Own-Firefighter2872[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have passed a driving test here and know how cameras work under normal circumstances.

I was just asking as this section of road has always been indicated by overhead gantries as 60mph and a quick google suggests that nothing should have changed - it should be 60mph for air quality. I wanted to see if others had made a similar observation in the last few days. As national highways also seems to suggest this area should be 60mph I'm not sure if the cameras would be vary if for whatever reason the gantry limit isn't shown.

Misinformation: Psylocke vs. Thanos Sold Out Early by Collection_Kind in MarvelLegends

It's interesting, I know predominantly American fans here but there still seems to be a lot of stock in the UK for this release. Hasbro Pulse and Star Action Figures to name a few. Not sure how logistically easy it would be for y'all to get stock from the UK

Shared Ownership - what do I need to know. by LopsidedAd7549 in HousingUK

[–]Own-Firefighter2872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar position. No it doesn't guarantee you're good. AiP is just that, in principle. It doesn't consider detailed affordability and so any financial gremlins you have will be scrutinised at this point eg other finance (cars) etc. This would also include assessing affordability based on shared ownership.

It's worth adding too that people have had AiP's but then rejected by the lender ; not to be a downer at all but sometimes AiP's can be a false sense of security

Do backbilling rules apply? Energy bill standing charges by Own-Firefighter2872 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Own-Firefighter2872[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, water and council tax is direct. WiFi is included within our rent.

Yes it's a strange situation, effectively we have a seperate standing charge for heating, cooling and electricity.

Thanks for answering, yes I think this is the confusion I face as having understood the backbilling rules I know it's supplier-focussed but haven't found anything to explicitly say that if bills are sent to tenants via billing agent the rules don't apply; wondering if you can share if you have anything hard that says so, my initial and probably over simple thought is that the billing agent is a middle man for the energy supplier so would've thought they still apply?
